It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work onsite for three (3) or more days a week and will have a dedicated workspace when working onsite. Work location is subject to change based on business needs.
The Director of Financial Planning works closely with FNBO's ultra-high net worth clients and the supporting client team. The Director develops and presents comprehensive financial plans, provides recommendations to improve the clients overall financial well-being, and delivers a superior planning experience. A Financial Planner will exhibit the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and perform complex and detail-oriented work.
About This Role:
- Attend and lead customer meetings around financial planning process and goal selection. Be able to help customers identify needs and objectives. Meetings include: Introduction, Goal Settings, Data Gathering, Plan Delivery, Updates, etc.
- Gather and interpret all sources of a client's income, expense, investment, insurance, tax and estate planning documents. This requires a solid understanding of complex planning topics including, but not limited to, executive compensation plans, buy/sell transactions, charitable giving, a working understanding of tax filings for individuals and entities as well as various trust documents.
- Work with a paraplanner to accurately input all information into financial planning software (eMoney) and confirm the accuracy and integrity of the data reflected in the plan's projections. This requires a strong understanding of cash flow, tax and estate planning strategies.
- Develop recommendations for the client that improve their overall financial well-being. This requires a thorough understanding of how all the components of their plan work together.
- Present and clearly articulate solutions to customers and internal partners around applicable strategies.
- Maintain and prepare customer files. Compose appropriate customer communications. Review task assignments for each customer and work directly with applicable team members to ensure all follow-up and action items as a result of customer meetings are documented in Salesforce and completed within the specified time frame. Escalate potential customer issues to appropriate team members. Prioritize work and handle multiple tasks.
- Deliver exceptional customer experience and demonstrate expertise as a Financial Planner. Accuracy of data input and case analysis. Prepare customer meetings in advance, including review of all reports. Proactively identify opportunities and reach out to internal partners.
- Actively participate in the financial planning process and team decisions. Attend team and divisional meeting. Build strong relationships with Financial Advisors and Financial Advisor Associates, serving as internal resources. Identify additional opportunities for ongoing training for all Advisors.
- Compliance: Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties.
- Complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls, as required.
- Report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations.
- Report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.
- Professionalism/Attendance: Exhibit professional behavior and promote positive working relationships. Maintain regular and predictable attendance in alignment with departmental/divisional policy.
The Ideal Candidate for This Role:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field. .
- Certified Financial Planner ("CFP") designation, or planned path to achieve CFP designation
- 5+ years of experience in financial planning
- Experienced user of eMoney financial planning software
- Experience with servicing high net worth individuals and institutions.
- Working knowledge of all standard concepts and procedures with area of expertise.
- Excellent orientation to detail and strong analytical skills. Able to review documents or information with accuracy for errors or omissions.
- Ability to deliver clear, articulate and concise messages, both verbally and orally.
- Ability to create written documentation in various formats and styles to meet the needs of the audience. Demonstrated proficiency in writing and able to develop presentation, documents or standard reports that are clear and understood.
- Ability to identify problems, research underlying contributing factors and evaluate appropriate solutions.
- Ability to identify areas where efficiency and process improvement are needed.
- Ability to work independently with guidance only in the most complex financial plans as well as collaboratively and cohesively within a team environment.
- Ability to listen attentively to customer's needs to best deliver a comprehensive solution for the customer.
- Understands and contributes to intended customer experience of helpful, easy and personal.
