Job Summary:

We are seeking aCLINICAL NURSE IV in ourDuke Pulmonary Cary Cliniclocated inCary, NCto be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Manage nursing services delivered within the clinic and ensure scope of practice compliance with nursing service
  • Identify clinical operational needs; manage appropriate level of equipment and supplies and monitors equipment maintenance
  • Collaborate with Health Center Administrator/Nurse Manager in determining the fiscal requirements of the specific clinic; submit budgetary recommendations, including necessary nursing personnel and patient care materials necessary for the provision of care
  • Cultivate exemplary customer service throughout the organization; promote effective communication skills to include, but not limited to problem solving, assertiveness, and support for team members, feedback, active listening and conflict resolution
  • Manage various personnel actions including, but not limited to hiring, orientation, performance appraisals, promotions, and scheduling; and counsel and conduct formal discipline of clinical staff
  • Manage multi-specialty nursing services delivered within a specific clinic
  • Develop, document, implement and monitor written policies and procedures reflective of the ambulatory health care site mission settlement and objectives. Manage specific clinic in absence of Health Care Administrator/Practice Manager; and be available on-call for emergencies involving the facility, staff members and patients
  • Manage specific clinic in absence of Health Care Administrator/Practice Manager; and be available on-call for emergencies involving the facility, staff members and patients. Provide staffing coverage as needed
  • Assess the environment and make recommendations to ensure optimal patient comfort, safety and compliance with various regulatory bodies (OSHA, JCAHO, etc.)
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.



Job Eligibility Requirements:



  • Work requires graduation from an accredited nursing program with a BSN degree.
  • Clinical Nurse II and III are eligible to apply for the CN IV Leader role. Applicants will perform the duties and responsibilities of the CN IV.
  • NC RN license is required. If candidate has another compact state RN license, NC state licensure must be obtained within 90 days of hire



Job Hours:

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
