Database Manager
Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA), TX ATS is seeking a qualified Database Manager to support the Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) Mission Training Complex (MTC). The Database Manager is responsible for the management and maintenance of the organizations databases. Duties include maintaining adherence to a data management policy and ensuring that company databases are functional and backed up in the event of memory loss. Administer, test, and implement computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems. Coordinate changes to computer databases. Identify, investigate, and resolve database performance issues, database capacity, and database scalability. May plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases. Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain and enforce adherence to a data management policy
- Ensuring that company simulation and mission command system databases are functional and backed up in the event of memory loss.
- Administer, test, and implement computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems.
- Coordinate changes to computer databases.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve database performance issues, database capacity, and database scalability.
- May plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases.
Required Qualifications:
- Prior experience building databases for simulations and mission command systems
- Must be a US Citizen
- The job requires occasional lifting of computers and other equipment, generally not in excess of 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Meet DoD 8570.01-M Baseline Computing Environment (CE) Certification Requirements at Information Assurance Technical Level II (IAT II)
- Geographic Information System (GIS) experience
- VBS3/4 experience
- Prior military service
Clearance: Requires a Secret Security clearance
