GIS/CAD Technician

This full-time position reports to the GIS/Joint Use Manager and is located at the Operations Center.

WHAT YOU WOULD DO:

• Update electric facilities and incorporate as-built prints within the utility’s GIS
• Produce and update system maps, feeder maps, one-lines, construction drawings and detail drawings for the electric utility.
• Work with engineers and planners to develop CAD drawings from rough sketches or verbal instructions and convert CAD drawings from outside agencies for utility use.

• Ability to perform or learn complex programming in GIS and
• Work with other departments to identify and implement process improvements that use GIS and other asset data.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree, certification or formal training in GIS related field required. Work experience editing with ESRI’s Arc Map or Arc GIS Pro. Auto CAD drafting experience or training is a plus. Knowledge, work experience or background in the electric utility is preferred. Successful candidates must be able to communicate complicated technical information effectively with internal and external stakeholders and have a strong team focus and ability to work collaboratively to achieve common goals. Must have the ability to work effectively in a self-directed environment.

SALARY:

Clark Public Utilities’ salary ranges are market based and established annually. With full competency

in the role and satisfactory performance the target is midpoint within the established range.
