Manage the mortgage lending staff in an assigned region for permanent, single family residential loans for sale in the secondary market and retention in the Bank's portfolio. Hire and manage staff. Ensure loan sales are profitable and have proper documentation to comply with all Seller's Warranties, as well as CRA/HMDA. Interact with loan underwriting, review appraisal, and senior department management.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:
  • Responsible for residential loan production goals, administration of all loan programs, and overseeing the review of the loans for approval.
  • Oversee originators in the contact and solicitation of additional loan business from qualified borrowers.
  • Coordinate origination process for single family permanent residential loans with underwriting, secondary marketing, mortgage systems administration, Retail Banking, and other Bank management.
  • Responsible for the achievement of production goals for single family permanent residential loans.
  • Prepare reports required for single family permanent residential lending activity.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, and coaching single family permanent residential lending officers and assistants.
  • Responsible for complying with, and ensuring staff follows, policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations.
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's Degree: Accounting, Business, Economics, Law, Computer Science or other related field required (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
Experience
  • 8 or more years of experience in mortgage loan origination required
  • 2 or more years of experience in a supervisory/management role leading a project, process, or team required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proven pattern of success in growing a business, team, or division oriented towards the consistent closing and funding of loans to meet sales goals.
  • Knowledge of mortgage procedures, regulations, underwriting, and loan processes and procedures.
  • Possess effective presentation, verbal and written communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of current market competition, strategies, trends, and market activity.
  • Possess strong leadership and team building skills. Demonstrated training and performance coaching skills.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to mortgage loan origination.

  • Targeted starting salary range (based on experience): $114,191 - $154,493 annually
