Position Summary |
This research specialist position will develop and implement original experimental procedures and provide high level technical, organizational and management support to the lab. This position will direct programs and projects in multiple locations. This position will lead efforts with groundbreaking collaboration with Ohio State,
UNC Genetics, and
UNC School of Data Science that involved fresh tissue processing of liposarcoma tissue. Additionally, this position will be responsible for interpreting results and techniques, including novel primary human tumor-based experimentation techniques and conducting all aspects of the experiment including making deductions from data and preparing detailed findings. This position will train and supervise students, temporary employees, and train postdoc researchers. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Extensive knowledge in molecular biology. Experience in cell culture, protein and
RNA isolation methods, pCR and quantitative pCR, and western blots. Demonstrated exceptional communication and organizational skills. Must be able to present and write data and protocols in a clear manner. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Prefer experience in a cancer biology laboratory with experience with epigenetics and gene level mechanisms of transcriptional regulation. Preferred experience with chromatin immunoprecipitation and genome sequencing techniques (ChIP-Seq,
ATAC-Seq,
GRO-Seq). Experience with supervising students and temp employees. |
