Position Summary |
Primary purpose of the position is to facilitate
MRI services for the
BRIC utilizing technical and administrative expertise. Technical areas of responsibility include providing for the safety of research subjects during research studies, and conducting
MRI, MR/
PET,
PET/CT, and CT studies with and without the use of radioactive nuclides. Administrative areas of responsibility include ensuring proper use of the scheduling system for imaging research services, adherence to safety standards and SOPs, logging accurate machine time usage for billing purposes and managing relationships with multiple investigators. This work involves caring for research subjects and clinical patients of all ages, and levels of health. This includes children as young as 2 weeks of age and spanning adulthood. Applicants should have a high level of comfort in working with subjects/patients of all ages, and people ranging from the very healthy to those who are very ill and toward the end of life. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience in medical diagnostics; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Some positions may require additional training, certifications, or licenses. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
The position would require registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with certification in Magnetic Resonance (or equivalent licensure or certification). Registry and certification eligible candidates must obtain certification within one year. Position requires experience with Magnetic Resonance Imaging (
MRI). As the
BRIC is a research facility that also conducts clinical imaging, candidates should demonstrate a desire to work within the research environment, as well as a clinical environment. Requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, investigators, staff, and the general public. Position requires the ability to work independently and be self-directed, while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Due to the nature of research imaging, the ability to multi-task is essential. This position will work with and around tracers and equipment that will emit a certain level of radiation exposure. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Training, experience and certification in high field
MRI (3T and 7T), Nuclear Medicine/Positron Emission Tomography (
PET), diagnostic Computed Tomography (CT) and MIMvista software are also recommended. Working knowledge of and experience in imaging research is preferred. |
