LOCATION: Burlington, VT (onsite)
POSITION TYPE: Full-time
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability security clearance, which typically requires 2-4 weeks for processing and must be completed prior to the start date.

The project supports USCIS's Office of Information Technology by delivering enterprise IT architecture, engineering, and solution development services. The team partners across OIT to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise networks, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performance connectivity to support mission-critical operations.

The Network Administrator (O&M) will be responsible for maintaining and supporting USCIS network operations, including troubleshooting, incident resolution, and performance monitoring. This role requires experience with network management, configuration, and monitoring tools to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.



Responsibilities

    Manage, monitor, and maintain USCIS network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Perform network troubleshooting and incident response to resolve connectivity and performance issues.
  • Utilize network monitoring tools to detect, diagnose, and prevent outages or service degradation.
  • Support configuration management, including updates, patches, and documentation of network changes.
  • Collaborate with engineering and security teams to align network operations with enterprise objectives.
  • Document operational procedures, incident reports, and configuration standards.
  • Contribute to ongoing initiatives to enhance network reliability, security, and scalability.


Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • 5+ years of experience in network administration, operations, or related roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Proven expertise in:
    • Network management and operations
    • Troubleshooting and incident response
    • Network monitoring tools and practices
    • Configuration management for enterprise networks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on maintaining uptime and reliability.
  • Must be eligible to obtain DHS Suitability clearance.

DESIRED:

  • Knowledge of cloud networking solutions.
  • Familiarity with network automation tools.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position is based onsite in Burlington, VT. Candidates must be able to work in a standard office environment and participate in in-person meetings and operations as required.
