Nurse Practitioner - Bariatric Surgery & Weight Loss Management - MedStar Georgetown University Hospital

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key clinician in the Bariatric Surgery program, delivering pre-op optimization, post-op care, and long-term follow-up.

  • Lead medical weight loss management (nutrition/behavioral integration, anti-obesity pharmacotherapy, and longitudinal care plans).

  • Coordinate individualized, whole-person care with bariatric surgeons, registered dietitians, behavioral health, and gastroenterology.

  • Educate patients and families, run group visits/classes, and contribute to quality improvement, clinical pathways, and outcomes tracking.

  • Utilize telehealth where appropriate to enhance access and continuity.

  • Outpatient-only practice (no weekends/holidays)

Experience

  • Nurse Practitioner licensure (or eligibility) and national certification.

  • Passion for caring for people living with obesity and related comorbidities.

  • Bariatric/obesity medicine experience preferred (new graduate NPs with strong interest are welcome).

  • Team-first mindset, strong patient education skills, and comfort with guideline-based chronic disease management.

The hiring range for this position is between $115,000-$143,619.
