Christman Facility Solutions is looking for an HVAC Technician in our Mesquite, Texas region.

What You Will Do:

As HVAC Technician, your primary daily responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Installs, maintains, and repairs commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, chillers, boilers, and packaged systems.

  • Performs preventative maintenance tasks on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots complex HVAC system malfunctions, including electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration issues.

  • Conducts thorough inspections of HVAC systems to identify deficiencies, inefficiencies, and potential areas for improvement.

  • Provides detailed repair estimates and recommendations to commercial clients, and communicates effectively to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Coordinates with building managers, facility owners, and other stakeholders to schedule service appointments and minimize disruptions to operations.

  • Keeps accurate records of all service calls, including parts used, labor hours, and equipment history.

  • Stays current on industry standards, codes, regulations, and emerging technologies related to commercial HVAC systems.

  • Adheres to safety protocols and best practices at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA guidelines.

  • Collaborates with other team members to share knowledge, provide support, and ensure timely completion of projects.

  • Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.

  • Completes all required and assigned training for this role.

Work Environment: The work is completed outside at the construction site, and can include renovating occupied facilities such as hospitals, labs, nursing homes, etc. Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors. Often exposed to sounds and loud noises, such as construction equipment. The job requires the use of designated personal protective equipment when on the construction site. Temperatures and conditions may vary depending on the weather and seasons.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and must be able to talk and hear others talking. The employee must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Travel and Expected Hours of Work: Full time position, occasional extended hours and weekends may apply. Must have reliable transportation. Must be willing to travel at least 60 miles a day dependent on project location relative to where the employee lives. Long distance travel may be required occasionally, including overnight stays depending on the project.

What You Will Bring to the Team:

Required experience, knowledge, and skills for this role include:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Commercial HVAC Service Technician or equivalent position providing similar work experience.

Preferred experience, knowledge, and skills for this role include:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

  • EPA certification for handling refrigerants (e.g., Universal Certification).

  • Advanced knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, including controls, refrigeration circuits, and mechanical components.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting complex HVAC issues and implementing effective solutions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment and work in various environments, including rooftops and mechanical rooms.
