Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager to lead and inspire our talented team of electrical, software, control, and system engineers. In this pivotal role, you will focus on employee development, project execution, and strategic planning, ensuring our projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards. The scope of work includes new product development, product transition to production, and heritage product sustainment in a DoD environment.

Essential Functions

  • Manages and coordinates design, development, and enhancement of new and existing products/product lines.
  • Manages the evaluation of design feasibility and design optimization.
  • Ensures team meets project milestones and completes projects within established timeline.
  • Evaluates issues, provides resolution, and communicates to stakeholders.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & General Managers.



Additional Responsibilities

Leadership and Employee Development: mentor and develop a high-performing team of electrical and software engineers; foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Project Execution: oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex engineering projects.



Required Qualifications

  • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 7-8 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
  • Discipline/Major: Engineering Design or other Engineering degree
  • Other Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Master's degree in engineering or other closely related field
    • Experience in full lifecycle technology development in the Aerospace and Defense industry
    • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
    • Strategic Planning: develop and implement strategic plans to drive innovation and improve engineering processes; align engineering initiatives with the broader company vision and goals; assess emerging technologies and industry trends to keep the company at the forefront of innovation.


Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Pay Range (USD)

$94,220.00 - $174,980.00


Pay Transparency Statement

The salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum for salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the range during the hiring process.


Additional Compensation

Hired applicant may be eligible to participate in the Company's Gain Sharing Program.
