Brad Foote Gear Works is hiring a Project Account Manager to join our team in Cicero, IL. This position is responsible for creating positive customer relationships by delivering robust customer experiences while managing accounts from RFQ through delivery including all elements of project/program management in between and after customers place our products into service.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to:


  • Be the single point of contact for assigned account communication.
  • Have profit and loss responsibility of respective account programs
  • Be responsible for:
    • Sales & quote activity (Including regular customer sales/service calls) of accounts
    • Pricing strategy of accounts
    • Negotiating terms & conditions for assigned accounts

  • Grow, maintain, or execute exit strategy of respective accounts.
  • Work with outside sales on coordinating communication (if applicable)
  • Be responsible for:
    • Manufacturing & material lead times, including demand planning
    • Cost work-up
    • Coordinate commercial and engineering contract reviews
    • Purchase order entry & acknowledgement and Salesforce entry
    • Ensuring all raw material and tooling are budgeted, ordered, and made available for the manufacturing organization.Work with purchasing to keep a healthy material Line of Balance (LOB)
    • Contact buyers on schedule, changes to demand and supply; input updates in TCM
    • Communicate changes or requested changes in demand to sales and operations.

  • Work with, materials, production, and quality to manage overall plant demand. Ensure plant is loaded properly against order demand by interacting with the master scheduling process.
  • Ensure the manufacturing organization is presented with a customer demand schedule (promise schedule). Promptly communicate any order changes internally.
  • Advise customers of any delivery schedule changes, delays, interruptions, etc. and coordinate with the sales rep, if applicable.
  • Work with Financial Controller to resolve any commercial / payment issues.
  • Research and understand market price, competitive threats, and manufacturing technology developments.
  • Keep pulse on manufacturing - obtain regular WIP and delivery schedule updates from manufacturing.
  • Work with material expediter when necessary to ensure no interruptions of product flow.
  • Manage and protect customer and company intellectual property.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives.
  • When required, communicate weekly schedule directly with buyer.
  • Coordinate with multiple buyers with like product demand to best meet customer needs; balance schedule to reflect changes in ship to location and quantity.
  • Monitor and communicate customer score card data.
  • Coordinate with Quality the submission and processing of deviations to customers.
  • Travel as needed to customer sites (travel requirement will be less than 10%)
  • Engineering Degree (BSME or related field) required; MBA preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years minimum direct experience with project management; PMP certification highly desired.
  • Six-Sigma green belt preferred.
  • Related experience in gears/ bearing/machining environment manufacturing is highly desired.
  • Understanding of functional heat treating / ferrous metallurgy is beneficial.
  • Strong program / project management and leadership skills are highly desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, CRM (i.e. Sales Force).
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and customer relations skills.
