BlackSky is looking for a strong Senior Material Planner based in a hybrid role at our Tukwila, WA office. This role will support the supply chain and production teams in quantifying demand for materials, development and refinement of planning and supply chain related processes, and support the financial planning required for program material plans. Additionally, this position will include system support such as MRP supply and demand management and reports needed to ensure material performance supports program requirements. This role is expected in the office 2-3 times a week and reports to the Director of Supply Chain. Responsibilities:
- Use internal ERP system to plan and execute material readiness for program schedules. Analyze program manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) and schedules for the manufacturing, assembly, and test of hardware.
- Maintain and generate program planning requirements, release purchase requisitions and work orders for both production items and independent demand requirements.
- Own schedule management for assigned programs and manage actions generated by MRP.
- Identify supply chain shortages to ensure production cadence is maintained during the fabrication, assembly, and test cycle as well as supply risks and issues, driving mitigation actions and escalating if needed.
- Monitor and support MRP demand management and inventory, identify associated risks, and drive gap closure to meet material plans.
- Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to review progress and material readiness issues.
- Execute required system transactions in a timely manner; and perform analysis on material readiness.
- Inventory analysis and order policy definition to secure material availability in alignment with program requirements.
- Drive improvement to inventory management practices and reporting methods.
- Monitor material life cycle, securing availability and preventing shelf-life and obsolescence issues.
- Perform clear to build assessments on production work orders.
- Monitor schedule performance of production work order adherence.
- Identify and champion continuous improvement opportunities to improve material availability.
- Identify and resolve data quality issues regarding material readiness and mBOM accuracy.
- Prepare and provide data driven reviews to management with a focus on optimizing the supply chain for performance.
- Create and monitor metrics regarding supply chain performance and operational health.
- Create and own costed bill of materials using past historical actuals and program cost targets.
- Create and own EAC for program material plan and present regular updates to business leaders.
- Create SOPs to support managing SCM and operational processes.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Operations Management or equivalent experience (four additional years).
- Minimum of at least five (5) years of experience with Supply Chain, Material Finance, Transport/Logistics, Operations or other relevant material planning.
- Proficient in ERP and MRP systems - preferred with Costpoint and/or PLEX.
- Previous experience compiling large amounts of data from multiple sources and querying raw data, especially using SQL, Python, etc.
- Experience in material finance, including creating cBOMs, developing financial spend plans, EACs
- As a hybrid role, this position requires being on-site in Tukwila a few times a week.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and present information; strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborative and adaptable to a fluid environment, able to prioritize tasks and responsibilities appropriately.
- Previous negotiation and forecasting experience, preferably in an aerospace industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's or other graduate degree in a relevant field.
- Active certifications in Production and Inventory Management (CIPM), ASCM/APICS, or other similar certifications.

The anticipated salary range for candidates in Seattle, WA is $105,000 to $125,000 per year. The final compensation package offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on specific background and education. BlackSky is a multi-state employer and this pay scale may not reflect salary ranges in other states or locations outside of Seattle, WA.
