HJF is seeking an Accounts Payable Coordinator I to ensure the timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices. This is the first of three levels within the Accounts Payable Coordinator series.

This position will be in support of Accounts Payable in the Finance Department and is a temporary role.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike.Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.



  • Coordinates with the Accounts Payable Supervisor and the other Accounts Payable Coordinators to ensure the efficient operation of the Accounts Payable Department.
  • Possesses a thorough understanding of Oracle processing procedures. Enters invoice information into Oracle ERP and ensures that they are properly approved, accurately entered and paid in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that correct procedures are followed for matching and processing vouchers so that vouchers and related documents clear correctly in the Oracle system.
  • Coordinates with HJF staff, customers and vendors to communicate and resolve issues that prevent invoices from being paid.
  • Keeps the Accounts Payable Supervisor informed of any ongoing, unresolved accounts payable issues.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.


Education and Experience



  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 0-2 years' experience required.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Basic accounting knowledge required. Ideally 1-2 years of experience in accounts payable.
  • Ability to use a computerized accounting package including accounts payable.
  • Good interpersonal skills to communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in a temporary role.


Physical Capabilities



  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.


Work Environment



  • This position will take place primarily in an office setting.


Compensation



  • The annual hourly pay range for this position is $20.99-$30.00. Actual hourly pay will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
