Position Summary

The Facilities Technician will support a rapidly growing research and development lab and office facilities and assist with a cGMP building. The successful candidate will possess experience in maintaining building related equipment and R&D lab support activities. Any candidate must be able to adapt to working in both R&D and cGMP environment simultaneously.

Responsibilities

These may include but are not limited to:

  • Support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of all Poseida Facilities, including the management of building utilities (HVAC, compressed air, house vacuum, microbulk CO2 tank, and access control system).
  • Quickly and efficiently analyze work orders (WO) that affect operations, providing corrective action suggestions.
  • Be the liaison and manage service providers for regular service visits and after hour emergency calls.
  • Performs daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance rounds for assigned tasks and completes all logs and paperwork associated with their tasks.
  • Respond to and address alarms from Building Management System.
  • Manage company assets that require asset tagging and work with multiple departments to provide proper classification.
  • Maintain inventory of parts and supplies for facilities repairs; order materials as needed.
  • Monitor, maintain, and perform standard repairs to building electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and cooling systems.
  • Assist licensed plumbers, electricians, and HVAC personnel as appropriate.
  • Prepare job estimates for customers including time and materials costs.
  • Perform quality inspections on work completed by other facilities services technicians.
  • Prepare and maintain records on all maintenance activities.
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Assemble and disassemble equipment.
  • Develop and maintain equipment maintenance logs as new systems are added.
  • Manage all WO documentation in the CMMS and document management systems.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed.
  • Stay current and adhere to training requirements.
  • Provide high level of customer support and service.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High School diploma or equivalent. Formal education in a related technical or engineering discipline or related military training/experience is desirable.
  • Minimum of four years of related experience and/or training.
  • Experience using Siemens Desigo Building Management system or similar systems.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor.
  • Ability to effectively present information to internal departments and/or large groups of employees.
  • Ability to solve problems in standard situations using basic analytical skills.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including but not limited to safety glasses, hard hats, respirators, and safety shoes.
  • Work may be performed in office, manufacturing floor, research lab, and vivarium environments.
  • Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, hazardous materials, chemicals, etc.
  • May require occasional travel to other company sites or for training.

Facilities Technician Pay Rate: $28.17/hour to $51.92/hour

The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience with the industry, education, geographic location, etc.
