Summary:

Mechanical Engineering Internship with emphasis on CNC Machining and Automation for a new product. This opportunity is temporary employment for engineering and robotics students who are seeking an internship in a manufacturing facility. This is a paid internship for 20 hours (except holidays) and begins in September 2025 and continues onto the Spring semester 2026. This internship is located in Mesa, AZ and will require 100% on site attendance.

Pay is set at $21/hr, 20 hours a week that can be worked between 6am and 5pm Monday-Friday

Focus on machining, design, and automation within the factory to meet both the customers' requirements and the internal manufacturing requirements.

The ideal candidate would be a self-motivated engineering student who is ready for a challenging internship in a fast-paced, electronics manufacturing environment.

Skills Required:

  • Design, interpret, and follow engineering drawings and technical documents (Experienced Solidworks user preferred)
  • Analyze complex instructions to assess for flaws/clarity
  • Utilize hand/power and precision assembly tools
  • Experience operating CNC Mill and Lathe

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in the assembly and machining of the necessary prototypes
  • Participate in implementation of customer design requirements
  • Aid in development of manufacturing processes for New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Aid in development and execution of product build instructions
  • Collaborate with engineering peers on early prototype manufacturing
  • Collaborate with engineering peers on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews for design enhancement
  • Verify completed work, checking dimensions, materials to be used and quantities per the verification plan

Education: Ideally pursuing degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or other relevant engineering majors.

Work Schedule: M-F 0600-1700, 20 hours/week
