The ideal candidate for the Grassroots Manager role will have strong organizational skills and familiarity with government affairs work generally (state-level familiarity, a plus) including the role of grassroots advocacy. Additionally, the role will assist in tracking and helping to reconcile state-level political contribution activity. The position will assist the Grassroots Director in executing successful federal and state grassroots strategies and work closely with the Group Vice Presidents of the DaVita State and Federal Government Affairs teams.

*This is a fully remote position. Candidate can sit anywhere in a home office.*

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Assist field and operations teammates to help maintain relationships with state and federal elected officials, their representatives and staff, as well as governors' office and state agency staff, both directly and through DaVita teammates.
  • Help build Village-wide support for, and educate teammates on, the value of effective state and federal grassroots activities;
  • Work closely with the Director, Grassroots to coordinate grassroots campaigns and facility visits by state and federal elected officials;
  • Maintain records tracking state political contribution activity in support of required reporting;
  • Help establish metrics for success, monitor efforts and evaluate progress toward yearly advocacy goals;
  • Help recruit and develop a relationship portfolio of Village teammates that will advance DaVita's state and federal advocacy strategy;
  • Assist in planning and delivering online and in-person events to cultivate engagement with
    teammates;
  • Help conduct trainings as needed for patients and teammates to prepare volunteers for interactions with elected officials and their staff; and

Communications:

  • Works with the Director, Grassroots as well as the state and federal government affairs teams to support regular communication with teammates on advocacy issues and campaigns;
  • Collaborate with the Director, Grassroots to build a portfolio of teammate and patient stories and experiences relevant to advocacy; and
  • Assists the Group Vice President of State Government Affairs in compiling reports biannually listing state political contributions as well as other semi-regular internal reporting requests.

Allies and Community Outreach:

  • Help partner with patients and patient advocacy groups, policy makers and other stakeholders to implement initiatives that will help advance kidney care focused objectives; and
  • Assist in outreach programs, partnerships and initiatives with nonprofit organizations and community leaders.

The ideal candidate must possess:

  • Bachelor's Degree required. 5 years of experience.
  • Strong work ethic with desire to complement a fun and dynamic team atmosphere
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Bachelor's degree, and 2-3 years in relevant work experience
  • Skilled in Powerpoint, Excel, Word

The Salary Range for the role is $75,200.00-$110,400.00 per year. If a candidate is hired, they will be paid at least the minimum wage according to their geographical jurisdiction and the exemption status for the position. New York Exempt: New York City and Long Island: $64,350.00/year, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $64,350.00/year, Remainder of New York state: $60,405.80/year New York Non-exempt: New York City and Long Island: $16.50/hour, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $16.50/hour, Remainder of New York state: $15.50/hour Washington Exempt: $77,968.80/year Washington Non-exempt: Bellingham: $17.66/hour, Burien: $21.16/hour, Unincorporated King County: $20.29/hour, Renton: $20.90/hour, Seattle: $20.76/hour, Tukwila: $21.10/hour, Remainder of Washington state: $16.66/hour
