Overview
Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Business Analyst. Primary Function: act as a liaison between project/program stakeholders, by understanding business needs, structure, processes, policies and operations. Capture, analyze, and document requirements; and support the communication and delivery of those requirements to the stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead the elicitation, analysis, and validation of business requirements using advanced techniques such as stakeholder interviews, process walk-throughs, surveys, use cases, and data modeling.
- Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements and maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Define and scope projects and programs to align with strategic business objectives, ensuring feasibility and value delivery.
- Identify and propose innovative solutions, including technical, procedural, or process-based, that optimize business performance and stakeholder value.
- Serve as a strategic liaison between business stakeholders and cross-functional project teams, ensuring alignment and clarity throughout the project lifecycle.
- Foster strong relationships with senior leaders, end users, project managers, and technical teams to gather feedback and drive continuous improvement.
- Communicate technical and architectural concepts in business-friendly language to support informed decision-making by stakeholders.
- Collaborate in the development of user acceptance testing strategies, author test cases, and facilitate communication between QA teams and business units.
- Represent stakeholder interests throughout the project lifecycle, advocating for business needs and ensuring successful outcomes.
- Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

- Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years equivalent experience for each undergraduate year not completed; undergraduate degree cannot substitute for minimum number of years of experience in Business Administration, Information Systems required.
- Business analysis certification (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA, CCBA) required.
- Minimum 5 Years Experience in business analysis or a related discipline, with a focus on strategic initiatives and cross-functional collaboration., preferably within the financial services industry required.
- Minimum 2 Year Business writing skills, including Business Requirements Documents, System Requirements Documents, Use Case Specifications and Functional Specifications required.
