The Director of Development plays a key role in advancing the mission of Rogers Behavioral Health Foundation by driving donor engagement, securing philanthropic support, and elevating community presence. Reporting to the Vice President of Development and Principal Gifts, this position is responsible for managing a portfolio of mid-to-major gift donors, cultivating corporate partnerships, and leading community engagement initiatives. The Director is both a strategic partner and a hands-on contributor, helping execute development strategies, steward donor relationships, and build a sustainable culture of philanthropy.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Donor Engagement & Fundraising Execution
Manage a portfolio of approximately 75-100 donor prospects with the capacity to give $1,000 to $50,000+. Design and implement tailored cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to move donors through the giving pipeline. Collaborate with the VP of Development and Foundation President on campaign execution and revenue goals ($500K-$1M+ annually). Assist in elevating mid-level donors to major gift status through strategic engagement.
Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorships
Develop and grow relationships with local, regional, and national corporations. Secure corporate sponsorships for Foundation events and campaigns. Collaborate on co-branded initiatives that align with Rogers' mission and the company's social responsibility goals. Maintain accurate tracking and deliverables for partnership agreements.
Community Engagement & Visibility
Represent the Foundation at key events, community functions, and visibility opportunities. Identify and pursue opportunities to position the Foundation as a trusted partner in behavioral health within the community. Collaborate with marketing and communications to ensure consistent, mission-driven messaging across touchpoints.
Internal Collaboration & Strategic Support
Serve as a thought partner to the Foundation leadership, offering creative input and flexible support across fundraising efforts. Participate in cross-functional projects, from campaign planning to donor communications to event execution. Coordinate with clinical teams, system leaders, and Foundation staff to identify impactful giving opportunities.
Data & Reporting
Maintain accurate donor records in the CRM system and log all prospect activity in a timely, consistent manner. Track key performance indicators related to outreach, cultivation, and revenue generation. Prepare briefing documents, donor proposals, and stewardship reports as needed.

Education/Training Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in nonprofit management, business administration, liberal arts, or related field required. Knowledge of primary fundraising methodologies, particularly major gift cultivation, with a minimum of five (5) years of experience. Proven track record and strong understanding of fundraising strategies, donor relations, and grant management. Experience with grant knowledge from government agencies, foundations, and/or corporate entities preferred. Experience with donor management software and CRM systems. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Willingness to travel nationally. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to work quickly and effectively in a fast-paced detail-oriented environment while adhering to deadlines. Valid driver license. Must be granted insurable status by the Rogers Memorial Hospital insurance policy.
