The Role

As the Lead Associate, Kindergarten Readiness Program, you'll be integral to our work in helping vulnerable children achieve a brighter future. You will be the on-the-ground Save the Children staff member providing training, technical assistance, and management support to program partners to ensure quality program implementation and results for children. You will focus on prenatal through age five programming. Under the supervision of the State Assistant Director and working as a member of the state team and in collaboration with the national program team, you will provide and support program implementation, monitoring, and evaluation at assigned partner sites.

What You'll Be Doing (Essential Duties) *not inclusive of all role responsibilities. May be subject to change

Program Implementation 55%:



  • Guide and support program staff to ensure quality implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Save the Children's program models according to established standards.
  • Provide in-person and remote training and technical assistance for program staff; maximize the use of technology to do so.
  • Train program staff in various areas including child development, observation and assessment, data collection, and home visiting.
  • Visit each assigned site in compliance with the program model to conduct observation, coaching, and mentoring and complete site visit reports.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date data collection and reporting for each assigned site.
  • Consult with the State Advisor about program questions and needs.
  • Regularly communicate with the State Assistant Director and State Advisor about program implementation challenges and successes and how to resolve complex issues.


Partner Operations and Management: 20%



  • Support the State Director and Assistant Director with partner management including but not limited to annual partner planning, subaward budget and spending, grant budgets and reports, annual district/site stakeholder meetings, partnership performance management, sponsorship, and emergency/disaster communication and reporting.
  • Meet regularly with each site supervisor.
  • Ensure timely and accurate incident reporting and necessary follow-up.
  • Provide new sites with start-up support including but not limited to hiring and training program staff, technology and program materials.


Local and State Relationships/Advocacy: 10%



  • Support the State Director, Assistant Director, and program partners as appropriate, with local, regional, and state community engagement activities, community partnerships/coalitions, and state level relationships.
  • Support the program team with local, regional, and state program presentations.
  • Support program partners with media opportunities to highlight Save the Children programs.


Professional Development: 10%



  • Participate in Save the Children Lead Associate calls, meetings, and trainings.
  • Stay current on relevant national standards and best practices
  • Share knowledge and experience with the national program team and program specialist colleagues.
  • Participate in national program team projects and USPA work groups.


Cross Functional Support: 5%



  • Work in collaboration with USPA teams (e.g., Early Childhood; National Directorate; Technology, Monitoring and Evaluation; Sponsorship; Policy and Advocacy; Resource Development; Marketing, Communications, and Media).
  • Provide stories from the field to national staff.
  • Support, and contribute as appropriate and requested, to Save the Children priorities and initiatives.
  • Provide support to the state team in the management of Gifts in Kind donations to program sites.
  • Support State Director and Assistant Director with VIP visits and other duties as assigned.


Required qualifications for the role



  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with early childhood development programming support, including home visiting programs
  • Demonstrated to communicate and collaborate successfully with individuals and teams at all levels, both internal and external
  • Demonstrated successful organizational and time management skills, with an ability to handle multiple and competing priorities
  • Willingness and ability to travel to assigned sites up to 70% of the time.
  • This position will require the incumbent to operate a motor vehicle to fulfill certain essential functions of the job. The incumbent should maintain a valid driver's license and remain in compliance with any Save the Children policies pertaining to the safe operation of motor vehicles.
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English


Preferred qualifications for the role



  • Experience developing and delivering training and technical assistance in-person and remotely.
  • Proven experience working effectively with limited-resource communities.
  • Working knowledge of financial and subgrant management.
  • Experience with Parents as Teachers program model


Compensation

Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:



  • Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $54,400 - $60,800 base salary


The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record. Actual base salary may vary based on, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here).
