Job Summary
Directs and oversees the account management function. Administers an organization's account management policies, objectives, and initiatives. Implements short and long-term strategies for building client relationships, generating new business, and driving revenue growth. Develops client retention and growth plans for developing a profitable business with assigned accounts. Establishes data collection and monitoring processes that reflect the status and health of accounts. Facilitates targeted action plans to resolve issues and maintain client satisfaction. Leads interactions with the most strategic accounts. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to suggest product or service improvements in response to client feedback and industry trends. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management.M04-Director / Sr. Director : Manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
Job Responsibilities

Strategic Sales Development

  • Design and execute comprehensive sales strategies targeting optimal companies, industries, and market segments
  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify emerging opportunities and competitive advantages
  • Develop detailed account penetration plans for high-priority prospects and existing customers
  • Collaborate with leadership to align sales initiatives with overall business objectives

Relationship Management & Business Development

  • Build and nurture strategic relationships with key stakeholder in both distributor and end-users including (executives, engineering directors, project managers, and procurement decision-makers)
  • Establish trusted advisor status with key accounts through deep understanding of their electrical infrastructure needs
  • Lead complex sales cycles from initial contact through contract negotiation and closing
  • Maintain active pipeline of qualified opportunities and close orders in excess of $3 million annually

Market Intelligence & Customer Success

  • Serve as the voice of the customer, providing critical market feedback to product development and engineering teams
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to inform strategic positioning
  • Partner with technical teams to develop customized solutions that address specific customer challenges
  • Ensure seamless handoff to project management and customer success teams post-sale

Performance & Growth

  • Meet and exceed annual sales quotas and key performance indicators
  • Accurately forecast sales activity and pipeline development using CRM systems
  • Represent InPower Solutions at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events
  • Mentor junior sales team members and contribute to best practice development
  • Partner with sister divisions to assure white glove service at all times
Job Requirements

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in electrical distribution and control equipment, switchgear, or equivalent
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets in complex, consultative selling environments
  • Experience managing sales cycles of 3-12 months with deal values of $100K+

Technical & Industry Knowledge

  • Understanding of electrical switchgear, power distribution systems, or related electrical infrastructure
  • Familiarity with industrial markets such as data center, EV charging, renewable, oil & gas
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements preferred
  • Ability to engage in technical discussions with engineers and facility managers

Core Competencies

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with ability to influence senior-level executives
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills for remote work success
  • Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite

Willingness to travel up to 60% for customer meetings and industry events
