Shift:Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm Department: CED Staff Development Operations and Technology Compensation: * Base Pay Range: $49,213 - $77,720 per year, based on experience ABOUT THE JOB The Instructional Technologist serves as the administrator for organizational Learning Management Systems. Manages databases and generates reports from collected data. Develops, implements, and provides ticketing system support for technology to enhance staff and patient teaching and learning. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION Collaborates with Information Technology on implementation, problem solving, maintenance, and integration of HR data, software, and hardware. Establishes and maintains positive relationships with educational product vendors, obtaining bids, problem-solving, and escalating issues as necessary. Researches and recommends new technology acquisitions to improve the effectiveness of training programs for MU Health Care faculty and staff. Develops and implements special projects as assigned. Collaborates with subject matter experts and team members to perform front-end analysis, generate content outlines, and produce detailed scripts/storyboards for training program development. Designs, develops, delivers, supports, and maintains instructor-led training, web-based modules, videos, and other multimedia programs to ensure materials are current, relevant, objective-driven, and compliant with regulatory and industry standards. Trains designated users as sub-administrators of Learning Management Systems. Designs, develops, updates, and maintains the HR department website to ensure easy customer access and effective marketing of services and programs. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with staff and customers, exemplifying organizational culture and providing prompt ticketing system support. Follows rigorous testing procedures to ensure proper operation of programs and processes in all training environments, maintaining accurate training records. Maintains clearly labeled, accessible archival copies of all projects and evaluates satisfaction and effectiveness of training products. Collaborates with staff and external organizations to benchmark educational data. Generates reports using departmental and organizational data, performing analysis with tools such as ODBC, SQL, R, or Python. Digitally records, edits, and enhances videos for training and staff development purposes. Serves as administrator of Learning Management Systems, designing, implementing, and documenting business processes and researching enhancements. Develops and maintains comprehensive project documentation, including technical specifications, user guides, and system documentation. May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to positively interact with management, staff, executive leaders, and providers. Proficiency in computer applications such as Office 365, authoring tools (Storyline, Rise, Captivate, Camtasia), and Learning Systems. Skills in data integration, basic SQL, R, Python, and HTML coding. Advanced planning, preparation, and punctuality skills. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and coordinate with other teams and departments. Ability to understand and retain knowledge of complex processes and continually learn new technologies. Basic knowledge of programming languages and digital video recording and editing. Technical expertise working with data integration and web-based training development using authoring tools (i.e., ToolBook, Captivate, Camtasia). REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or educational technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or educational technology, or a related area. Two (2) years of experience in Learning Management System administration, design, and development of multimedia training, software development, and digital video editing. Experience in a healthcare setting and adult teaching. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
