POSITION SUMMARY:

The Vice President of Strategy is responsible for leading the development and execution of long-term growth strategy, ensuring alignment across government and commercial lines of business development teams. This position is to serve as a trusted advisor to the President and Senior Leadership Team. The Vice President of Strategy's focus is to shape decisions focused on revenue growth, operational excellence and the creation and maintenance of sustainable competitive advantages while adhering to the King Aerospace Cornerstone Principles and Mission. A second primary goal is to individually obtain new customers and programs for each KA entity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:




  1. Lead the annual multi-year strategic planning process, integrating input from both commercial and government business units.
  2. Identify growth opportunities in core business markets, adjacent markets and potential new capabilities through networking with established prior relationships and newly developed relationships.
  3. Translate strategic objectives into actionable initiatives with clear milestones and metrics to enable easy tracking.
  4. Monitor aviation industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics affecting the core business services.
  5. Conduct market segmentation and growth potential analyses across government and commercial sectors.
  6. Advise leadership on potential threats, emerging opportunities, and strategic responses to ensure KA is always well positioned.
  7. Collaborate with operations, business development, finance, and program management teams to align priorities and resource allocation with strategic goals.
  8. Champion initiatives that improve efficiency, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
  9. Measure, track, and report progress and activities to the President on a timely basis both verbally and in a required weekly status report.
  10. Facilitate integration of strategic planning into budgeting, staffing and capital investment decisions.
  11. Strengthen relationships with government agencies, prime contractors and OEM's to position KA as a preferred aviation provider.
  12. Regular travel required for new customer relationship development.
  13. Performs other duties as required or assigned.


Qualifications

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:




  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Aviation Management or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Ten (10) or more years in strategy, business development or related leadership roles, preferably in aviation, aerospace or defense.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing strategies in both government and commercial aviation environments.
  • Strong understanding of aviation maintenance operations, FAR/DFARS compliance and aviation industry supply chains.



LANGUAGE ABILITY:




  • This position requires the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
  • The ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams of subject matter experts in achieving organizational objectives.
  • Position requires strong networking and relationship management skills that generate leads that convert to lines of business.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.



MATH ABILITY:




  • This position requires the ability to apply concepts of basic math and algebra, fractions, percentages, ration, and proportions to practical situations.



REASONING ABILITY:




  • This position requires the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. This position must interpret a variety of instructions furnished written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.



COMPUTER SKILLS:




  • Ability and knowledge to use a computer and related technology effectively.



WORK ENVIRONMENT




  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, and talk or hear, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.
