Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities
Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Manager to join our Commercial Data Services product team. As a Product Manager at Aireon, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of new products and features from ideation to launch. We are seeking an individual with a strong track record of delivering successful products, a customer-first focus, an understanding of both the Aviation and Data markets, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent product management skills, and a deep understanding of customer-facing data and API development.

What You'll Do

  • Define and manage the product roadmap, including prioritizing features, creating product functional requirements, managing the product backlog, and working with engineering to align release schedules.
  • Work closely with the data and software engineering team to ensure alignment on product, customer, and business objectives.
  • Develop and manage product documentation, including user guides, release notes, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies and sales campaigns.
  • Track key performance indicators to measure product success and drive improvements.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitive landscape to inform product development and strategy.
  • Conduct market research and customer engagements to identify customer needs and market opportunities.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field with experience in software development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and managing products throughout their life cycle.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in a customer-facing software development environment.



Desired Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing and leading multi-faceted teams.
  • Experience with agile product development methodologies, product management tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of the aviation data market including ANSP, Airline, Airport, OEMs, and System Integrators.

At 12 months we'll expect you to...

  • Drive the strategic direction of your product line based on customer input, market signals, and internal feedback
  • Identify new product opportunities and lead concept development to support future investment
