Nature and Scope

The Contracts Specialist is responsible for performing routine and complex document preparation, negotiation management, contract tracking, and scheduling/arranging meetings as needed to further negotiations with assigned attorneys. The role works closely with contract owners from any/all functional areas requiring contract support to create, review for accuracy, proof, process, and track contracts. Maintains department on-line contract management system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage contract templates, preparing initial drafts based on requests and information provided by functional area contract owners.
  • Regularly review and update contract management system and prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual activity reports by contract type, functional area, and project as requested. Ensure data is accurate, complete and current.
  • Coordinate negotiations, and advise contract owners about internal approval requirements and execution of all contracts.
  • Monitor the expirations/terminations of ongoing contracts.
  • Actively participate in departmental initiatives to improve operational processes. Identify cost/time saving measures.
  • Assist in training contract owners in the contracting process as needed.
  • Perform any other tasks/duties as assigned by management.

Education Requirements and Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience performing contracts management in-house or analogous consulting role, preferably in pharmaceutical or related industry.
  • Strong organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to handle, prioritize, and follow through on numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Click here to enter text.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and extensive experience in a contract management software system.
  • Ability to work independently, with little supervision while also having close attention to detail, and strong sense of accountability for work product.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, and extensive knowledge of contract provisions.
  • Ability to work positively, collaboratively, efficiently, and diplomatically with others in a fast-paced environment.

Expected Salary Range:

$94,000- $116,500

The salary range, displayed is the minimum and maximum annual salary range of compensation for the role that the employer in good faith believes to be accurate at the time of the posting of an advertisement for the role. Actual compensation for the role will be based on a number of different factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, knowledge, skills and experience.
