Overview:

As a Group Sales Compensation Sr. Specialist at Securian Financial, you'll play a pivotal role in managing and analyzing data and processes that support over $3.3 billion of inforce premium and $1.4 trillion of insurance. This high-visibility role directly influences business decisions across our Employee Benefits Solutions (EBS) division and Corporate functions. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Policy Exhibit - Inforce, New, and Cancelled Business

  • Analyze monthly premium, lives, and volume data to identify and resolve discrepancies.

  • Independently calculate and report inforce, persistency, and new business metrics used across EBS and Corporate teams including Underwriting, Actuarial, Reinsurance, and Client Reporting.

  • Prepare reports for peer surveys and rankings using internal and external data sources for marketing and benchmarking purposes.

  • Allocate new business into granular revenue growth categories used for bonus calculations and actuarial analysis.

  • Administer monthly calculations and payments for Lifesuite programs.

External Producer Compensation

  • Draft and track compensation disclosures for EBS clients.

  • Provide data and create documents used for compensation filings.

  • Create compensation agreements for external producers.

  • Provide guidance and documentation to Enterprise Partner Compensation team (EPC) for EBS compensation calculations.

  • Respond to producer and internal inquiries, providing reporting and manual adjustment templates as needed.

  • Collaborate with associates in multiple EBS units to develop and manage Supplemental Incentive Compensation program agreements.

  • Administer heaped compensation programs and ensure accurate setup and periodic database table updates.

  • Calculate monthly Supplemental Incentive Compensation program payments.

Internal Associate Bonus Programs

  • Independently administer and calculate bonuses using complex Excel models and following program documents.

Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Background in mathematics, actuarial science, accounting or a related analytical discipline.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage both analytical and administrative tasks with precision.

  • Solid organizational and time management skills to prioritize workload, adjust to changing priorities and meet tight deadlines.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.

  • Ability to identify patterns and resolve issues using partial or conflicting data.

  • Proven track record of problem-solving and delivering insights that drive business outcomes.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to create complex formulas and macros in Microsoft Excel.

  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or compensation administration.

The estimated base pay range for this job is:

$50,500.00 - $88,500.00

Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. More information on base pay and incentive pay (if applicable) can be discussed with a member of the Securian Financial Talent Acquisition team.
