Role Snapshot

The Senior Compliance, Ethics and Privacy Specialist serves as the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)/Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/ Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance Officer and is responsible for managing the OFAC Compliance Program. The Senior Specialist will support all lines of business and perform the functions required by the Compliance program including conducting internal investigations of potential violations of the Code of Conduct, investigating and reporting privacy incidents, developing and presenting training, reviewing conflict of interest surveys, and other compliance program projects and initiatives. This role is responsible for coordinating certain external audits for the Health Plan division.

Salary Range

$75,000 - $95,000

The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Hybrid Work Location



  • This position will be hybrid, having the regional availability to come in our Office two days a week. Our office location: WPS Corporate Center Building - 1717 W. Broadway in Madison, WI.
  • Onsite work will be tailored for team cohesion, strategy, planning and collaboration.


In this role you will:



  • Serve as the OFAC/BSA/AML compliance officer, maintaining the OFAC compliance program and facilitating workflow reviews related to exclusion list scans.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with business units to support adherence to industry standards and legal requirements.
  • Conduct investigations of compliance concerns or misconduct and suspected privacy incidents.
  • Lead the successful implementation of the annual compliance communication plan including intranet articles, compliance newsletter, corporate compliance survey, Corporate Compliance and Ethics Week, and compliance training materials.
  • Serve as the primary compliance and privacy point of contact for WPS Data Logistics.
  • Coordinate certain external audits for the Health Plan division.
  • Coordinate annual updates of the Corporate Compliance Program, support the maintenance of corporate policies and department procedures.
  • Monitor trends in compliance and ethics surveys and incident reports to identify areas for improvement.
  • Promote awareness of ethical decision-making and reporting responsibilities across all levels of the organization.
  • Prepare regular reports for leadership on compliance, ethics, and privacy activities, metrics and risks.

Minimum Qualifications



  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to Department of Defense restrictions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Information Security, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4 or more years of experience in compliance, privacy, risk management, or regulatory affairs.
  • In-depth experience of privacy regulations and regulatory frameworks.
  • Robust knowledge in ethical frameworks, organizational behavior, and corporate governance.
  • Proficient in conducting investigations of misconduct and privacy incidents.
  • Demonstrated experience executing Compliance program elements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in the development and presentation of compliance, ethics and privacy training.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex information.
  • Ability to manage sensitive issues with a high level of integrity, discretion and sound judgment.
  • Foundational level of understanding of healthcare and government compliance programs.
  • Ability to work in a complex, rapidly evolving environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Certified in Health Care Compliance or Privacy or Certified Fraud Investigator.
