Note for Salary

This is the starting salary for this position. This position offers biannual pay increases for employees that are satisfactorily progressing towards qualification, meeting the company's expectations and standards, and adhering to workplace policies. The maximum pay rate is typically achieved at the career level within two to three years.

Job Family Description

Maintenance/production personnel support the operational success of nuclear and non-nuclear facilities, buildings, systems, and shops. Professionals in these roles are responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of equipment, machinery, and production processes to meet quality, safety, and productivity standards.

Discipline Description

Professionals in site services infrastructure provide various support functions to manage and maintain the physical facilities and systems that support operations. They provide operations and maintenance for site utility systems (steam, electrical, sanitary wastewater, fire water, domestic water, process water, etc.) roads, bridges, lakes, dams, outfalls, and railways. They perform fire systems operations, maintenance, and testing, and ventilation and HEPA filter testing. They supply and maintain Site Leased Portable Equipment. They perform Crane and Rigging support and oversight of the Site Hoisting and Rigging Program, railroad operations and maintenance, site fleet and fuel management services, transportation services, ground maintenance and herbicide, trucking, and waste removal.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

Provide Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities
Work from standard procedures and supervisory direction. Utilizes work orders, written and verbal instructions and occasionally plans own work.

Works in a team environment to plan and schedule work in addition to performing administrative functions such as completing procedures, using copier, computers, completing store orders, performing safety observations. Any other administrative duties as assigned by supervision or team members or as necessary to complete job.

Contribute to training schedules and sharing processes and team building activities. Providing positive and constructive feedback to team members.

Supports and controls many systems, electrical, process steam, domestic water, sanitary wastewater systems, fire water supply and distribution system, environmental outfalls, etc.).

Operates and controls process cooling water flow to production facilities.

Respond to building Fire Alarms and provide Fire patrols.

Operates analytical chemical equipment and electrical test equipment. Unload hazardous and/or essential materials.

Attend classroom or on-the-job training as directed.

Operate equipment such as electrical breakers, pumps, air compressors, boilers, supports equipment for steam, support equipment for cooling water, drinking water and fire protection water, support equipment to produce electricity and generators.

Required to work in a production environment, as well as work in operator stations and outdoors.

Must be able to move materials up to 50 pounds.

Uses hazardous materials (i.e. sodium hypochlorite, acid, caustic, sulfite, phosphate, etc.) in the normal performance of duties.

Required to work in/around contamination, radiation, temperature extremes, wetness, oil/grease, fumes, noise and weather extremes.

Required to wear goggles, hard hats, work gloves, coveralls, safety shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses or additional safety equipment as required.

Performs housekeeping duties.

Has significant responsibility for the health and safety of other power and site personnel, support groups, the general public and the environment.

Provides on the job training and direction for process operator trainees and/or auxiliary operators in skills necessary for frequent interaction with outside work groups, departments, divisions and vendors.

May be required to qualify at multiple watch stations.

Perform administrative functions as required.

May be required to complete Rad Worker Training (RAD 1)

Must be able to obtain or maintain a "C" Level Water Treatment License, a "C" Level Water Distribution License, a "B" Level Biological Wastewater License, or a "D" level Physical/Chemical Wastewater License through South Carolina Department of Environmental Services.

* High school diploma, GED, or other equivalent State Credential
* Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered
* Candidate must have completed ACT WorkKeys skill assessment and achieved minimum scores of 4 in Applied Math, 4 in Workplace Documents, and 4 in Graphic Literacy.
* Test scores must be within the last five years. Official documentation must be provided to the company for consideration of employment. Results must be uploaded into BrassRing on the ATTACHMENTS page at the time the application is submitted online.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
