Senior Director, Commercial Spatial Diagnostics

ROLE SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Director of Commercial Spatial Diagnostics to build and execute our Spatial LDT and CDx strategy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving our overall commercial strategy across Spatial diagnostics, in collaboration with the Chief Commercial Officer.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for Akoya Spatial Biology products, specifically tailored to LDT development within clinical diagnostics markets, including Companion Diagnostics opportunities
  • Identify and pursue high-impact sales opportunities across hospitals, clinical laboratories, LDT services, and diagnostic testing organizations.
  • Achieve and exceed goals and revenue targets
  • Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with decision-makers, including pathologists, clinical laboratory directors, diagnostic development leads, and hospital procurement teams.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, product management, regulatory affairs, scientific affairs, and customer support teams to ensure cohesive product messaging, compliance alignment, and customer success.
  • Provide market insights and competitive intelligence to inform product development, positioning, and strategic direction.
  • Develop and monitor key performance metrics related to sales performance, customer engagement, and pipeline health.
  • Prepare regular reporting and forecasting for leadership, highlighting progress, opportunities, and strategies for acceleration.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, or related field
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in clinical diagnostics or life sciences sales



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD) preferred
  • Strong experience with LDT solutions and/or spatial biology workflows
  • Expertise in the clinical diagnostics ecosystem, including in vitro diagnostics (IVD), LDT development, pathology workflows, and spatial biology technologies.
  • Strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills, consultative sales experience, and the ability to build C-level relationships.
  • Proven track record of success in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional collaboration and revenue attainment.
