Description POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for preparing products for decking installing and painting. Successfully performs work as an individual, as a member of a single craft, or multi-craft work crew. Performs work with minimal supervision safely and efficiently. Other duties may be assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list is not intended to detail all aspects of the assigned work but is representative of the job's overall responsibilities.) Removal of decking products with power tools Prepping steel to proper SSP Masking Cleaning Maintaining housekeeping at all times INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees. Ability to follow written and oral instructions, regarding daily functions, safety rules and regulations, and possible hazardous conditions. Ability to give instruction to others assigned to assist on projects. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to operate hand and power tools safely. An ability to function in a safe manner and in accordance with company and industry standards o Able to identify and repair unsafe conditions Must be able and willing to work in confined spaces, at elevated heights, and follow/incorporate industry and company policies for safety compliance. Must be able to wear fresh-air respirator, filtered respirator, blast helmet respiration, and pass health exam to support the above. Must be able to identify condition that warrant the use of PPE, and what PPE is appropriate. Ability to identify and achieve SP-1, SP-2 Understand and apply quality practices and standards Working knowledge of manufacturer's product data sheets Ability to set-up/pressure wash a flat surface (deck) Knowledge of disposal procedure for spent media, non-skid, and paint chips Ability to break an edge and prep steel for painting Ability to clean spaces to meeting specified inspection criteria for painting Ability to set-up/pressure wash in confined spaces (bilges, etc.) Ability to independently mask areas for blast and paint Ability to set-up small and large containments Ability to apply coatings per spec by brush and roll Ability to rip out 20 square feet per hour with pneumatic chipper Ability to stripe coat paints with brush and roll Ability to install rubber base
