Position Summary

The position of Total Rewards Specialist will be responsible for planning the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (i.e., group health, dental, vision, life insurance, travel and accident plan, health spending accounts, 401(k) plan, etc.). This role is centered around constant improvement, automation, and partnership with the people of the organization to provide best-in-class internal service to meet company goals.

What will you do in this role?

  • Serves as liaison for employees in handling their benefit issues from understanding the plans to dealing with claims; serves as the employees' advocate in all matters.
  • Provides customer service support to internal and external customers.
  • Assists in the development of communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package; assists in the design and distribution of materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions.
  • Coordinates daily benefits processing; handles enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, QDROs, QMCSOs, and compliance testing.
  • Oversees maintenance of employee benefits files and maintains group benefits database.
  • Partners with payroll to ensure proper processing of benefit deductions.
  • Gathers employee data and oversees the processing of weekly and monthly billings and the preparation of vouchers for payment of administrative fees for all group plans and reviews invoices for accuracy.
  • Manages TR Inbox incoming emails from employees to ensure accurate and timely responses.
  • Administers company-wide Wellness program; partners with wellness carrier to ensure employee engagement and monitor features of program; partners with company's Wellness Ambassadors to expand engagement and understanding of Wellness program.
  • Supports M&A due diligence, as requested.
  • Partners with Talent, HR Business Partner, and Learning and Development on special projects.
  • Administers Worker's Compensation program; partners with company's WC carrier/state carriers, as appropriate; monitors claims and ensures reasonable reserve setting.
  • Administers Leave Management programs, partners with leave carrier, employees, and payroll to ensure timely and efficient filing and processing of claims and payments.
  • Surveys industry trends, completes benefits surveys, and reviews information obtained from the results; analyzes complex benefits information, forecasts trends, and assists with future benefits design; develops specific recommendations for review by management.
  • Monitors administrative costs of benefits programs and recommends cost containment strategies, including alternative methods for administration and funding.
  • Conducts ongoing research into emerging trends, issues, and best practices.
  • Assists in preparation of information for year-end benefits plan testing and ensures timely completion.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

What do you need to succeed in this role?

  • Associate degree in human resources or three (3) years of benefits administration experience
  • Three (3) years' experience in benefits and human resources
  • Experience administrating employee benefit plans in the health and welfare areas.
  • Experience administering 401(k) retirement programs.
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, affecting employee benefits programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Medicare, and DOL requirements
  • May require travel, as needed.

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the midpoint of the base salary range for this role is $89,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, commission, and geographic location.
