NS2 Mission is currently seeking a driven and skilled Cloud Developer to join our team in Chantilly, VA. This Cloud Developer will leverages advanced technical resources to deliver timely, reliable, and secure data insights, including open-source and social media content, to support senior leadership. The Sponsor requires comprehensive support in cloud development, DevOps and backend application engineering to enhance scalable, AI-integrated platforms capable of processing and analyzing large-volume datasets arriving in diverse formats. The Contractor will support both existing systems and the development of new capabilities, working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and optimize cloud-native and on-prem hybrid workflows for advanced data analytics and AI/ML applications.
  • Architect and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js, Typescript, and Python.
  • Build, automate, and monitor ETL pipelines using tools like Apache NiFi, enabling high-throughput data processing.
  • Support and enhance an existing service-based web application for social media data exploitation and analytics.
  • Deploy and optimize AI models (e.g., for classification, generative AI) in cloud environments, integrating with analytics platforms and delivery mechanisms.
  • Champion the application of DevSecOps principles across CI/CD pipelines, system monitoring, and automated testing.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS) and integrate cloud solutions with high-performance on-prem compute resources.
  • Implement and support microservice-based architecture using Agile practices to ensure high availability, latency, and secure performance.
  • Ensure application and infrastructure security, perform vulnerability management, and apply security controls across systems.
  • Create software pipelines to query, merge, and analyze structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
  • Develop scripts, dashboards, and tools for automation, monitoring, and deployment of AI model outputs across secure platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with mission partners, data scientists, and engineering teams to meet evolving technical and operational requirements.
Required Skills:
  • Experience with Python, Bash, and Terraform for development and infrastructure automation.
  • Proven skills in Node.js and Typescript for backend service design and optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing and deployment of configurations/infrastructure.
  • Expertise in administering and provisioning cloud technologies (especially AWS), including EC2, S3, and EBS.
  • Strong knowledge of ETL workflows and frameworks, including Apache NiFi or similar tools.
  • Experience hosting and managing SQL-based databases in cloud environments.
  • Proven ability to optimize hybrid-cloud connectivity between cloud platforms and on-prem HPC systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DevSecOps tools and best practices.
  • Strong background in cybersecurity, including governance, encryption, secure development, network security, and operations.
  • Experience developing in fast-paced, cross-functional team environments.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills for engaging senior stakeholders.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Anaconda for development and data science workflows.
  • Hands-on experience supporting AI/ML model development, including tuning, transfer learning, and deployment.
  • Familiarity with Flask and front-end web development for analytic tool delivery.
  • Experience using Tableau for visualization of cloud-based data analytics.
  • Familiarity with system performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining OS, software, and networks.
  • Demonstrated experience with automated deployments and managing multi-tenant environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud storage, networking, virtualization, and application security in secure environments.
