Day & Zimmermann is currently seeking an experienced ALARA Coordinator to support upcoming outage work in Waynesboro, GA.
GENERAL DUTIES:
Provides direction to and guidance for craft supervision to meet ALARA and radiation protection requirements.
Provides primary liaison with Site Radiation Protection Group.
Provides direction to assist in the coordination of job planning, work methods, equipment usage, subcontractors, rentals, and procurement of supplies and tools for work in radioactive or contaminated areas.
Minimum Requirements:
* Responsible to comply with and participate in the safety program and monitor / oversee radiological safety attributes for work assigned. Safety is our number one value.
* Must be able to obtain unescorted access.
*Responsible for review of construction activities in radiological and contaminated areas.
*Personally engages in field walk downs of planned and ongoing craft and construction activates. Performs inspections of work in progress to assess status and resolve problems first hand.
*Informs craft supervision of changing field conditions.
*Monitors scope, scope changes, budgets and schedules to ensure ALARA objectives are met.
*Continually strives for more effective and economical ALARA techniques, share and implements industry best practices.
* Responsible for developing dose/explosive estimates for assigned work and monitoring the estimate or compliance.
* Assumes the responsibility of the single point contract and liaison between the D&Z organization and the owner when interfacing relative to incident investigations, exposure challenges, personnel issues, etc.
In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $66,000- $193,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of union fringes).
