Sample Coordinator, Entry Level Merchandising Operations Team This is a 1.5-month (potential to extend), full-time (40 hours/week), on-site contract role located in San Francisco, CA. Summary We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sample Coordinator to support the merchandising operations team. This role ensures the efficient handling, tracking, and quality assurance of product samples, enabling smooth cross-team collaboration and timely execution of merchandising initiatives. Our Ideal Candidate 1-2 years of experience in retail, inventory management, or sample coordination Passion for product operations and merchandising, with a strong foundation in organization and logistics Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and comfortable using Mac and PC platforms Familiar with database management tools and process tracking systems Skilled in collaborating with merchandising and cross-functional teams Able to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Flexible and adaptable to shifting deadlines and requests Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail Highly proactive, self-motivated, and committed to accuracy Job Description In this role, you will oversee the full lifecycle of sample management, including receiving, unboxing, organizing, tracking, and routing merchandise samples. You'll partner closely with the merchandising team to obtain estimated arrival times, communicate product prioritization, and ensure timely delivery to the correct stakeholders. This includes conducting quality assurance checks against product data, resolving sample challenges, and improving efficiencies in the process. You will also maintain clear communication with internal partners, helping set expectations and supporting the team's ability to execute merchandising strategies effectively. Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED required Further education (business college, city college, or university) preferred, but not required Prior retail, inventory management, or sample coordination experience highly regarded Additional Requirements Ability to stand or kneel for prolonged periods of time Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs Compensation & Details This opportunity is located in San Francisco, CA and requires on-site work. The pay for this W-2 position is $24.00 per hour. This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service and hours requirements.
