Overview

The main responsibility of this position is the gathering of safety data, keying the data in the various computer systems, analyzing the information and then providing the data to interested parties in a meaningful way. The objective would be to identify safety trends - such as work related injuries and safety goals & initiatives, and maintaining the safety web site.

Duties include the following:

    Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word skilled
  • Use of pivot tables, macros, graphing and data bases
  • Calculation of safety rates on daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Compilation of charts, tables and graphs to meet business needs
  • Tracking and trending safety data
  • Use of company purchasing software to approve orders and manage supplies
  • Analysis of injuries, near misses and critique data
  • Translating raw data into presentable and interpretable resources
  • Ability to provides reports and analysis of safety data
  • Upload data to websites and data bases
  • Updating safety web site
  • Because of the fluctuating workloads, the assistant shall, at the request of salaried personnel, perform such other duties as assigned
  • Admin Functions such as but not limited to support sampling operations.

* This position is a 1st shift position. This position needs to be flexible to support other shifts per business needs.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency
  • 3 years related experience to job description

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S Degree or higher
  • Experience working with statistics
  • Safety and Industrial Hygiene experience or knowledge (OSHA, ANSI and/or NIOSH)


Skills

  • Good computer skills related to Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Organizational skills as related to file maintenance
  • Data management
  • Data Anaylsis
  • Communication skills
  • Experience with job functions that include gathering, capturing, tracking, and inputting data
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
  • Ability to adapt to a fast pace, changing environment.
  • Ability to recognize errors and discrepancies
  • Ability to work with little oversight or direction
  • Time Management and prioritization skills
