Network Engineer - Data Center (Planned Position)

MicroHealth is seeking a Network Engineer - Data Center to support our contract providing to achieve the acceptable levels of enterprise management and technical support, for the overhaul, repair, and maintenance of the Navy's fleet in the areas of Technical Support, IT Strategies and Client Services, and Cyber Security.

*Clearance: a T5 security clearance based on an initiated Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) in Defense Information System for Security DISS)*

*On-site required*

Location: Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) CIO C109, Portsmouth, VA 23709

Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and monitor network systems, hardware, and software applications including switches, routers, firewalls, and network appliances
  • Implement DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to ensure network component compliance
  • Evaluate and respond to network incidents and perform corrective actions
  • Support approved change management processes
  • Implement and manage data center technologies (network, compute, storage, automation, security)
  • Collaborate with Windows, Unix, and other server administrators to design solutions and address requirements
  • Troubleshoot issues and implement changes in a data center environment
  • Review security information and event management (SEIM) tools to discover and resolve network events
  • Implement and manage security protocols and policies within enterprise networks
  • Perform root cause analysis and provide recommendations or corrective actions
  • Work with Department of Defense teams to support project objectives
  • Contribute to project/task plan execution and help assess/resolve issues
Qualifications:
  • Ten (10) years of experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Cisco networks
  • Experience in design, configuration, and installation of enterprise network devices
  • Extensive work history in data center environments
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in advanced routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF) and switching technologies
  • Understanding and implementation of SDN technologies (SD-Access, SD-WAN)
  • Planning, designing, and implementing local and wide-area enterprise networks
  • Expertise with Cisco data center solutions (Nexus, UCS, ACI, Fibre Channel)
  • Required Hardware Experience:
    • Network switches: CISCO Nexus series 7000/9000 and Cisco Catalyst series
    • Cisco routers: CISCO 4551, 8500
  • Required Software Experience:
    • Solar Winds
    • Cisco ISE
    • Cisco Catalyst Center (aka DNA)
    • Splunk
Required Certifications:
  • Security+ CE or higher
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
