Role Snapshot The Senior HR Project Specialist plays a key role in advancing HR initiatives that support the organization's strategic pillars. The role partners with HR leaders and cross-functional teams to design, implement, and manage HR projects while also providing day-to-day HR generalist support. This position combines strong HR expertise with project management skills to deliver initiatives that improve HR processes, tools, and programs. Salary Range $80,000 - $100,000 The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hybrid Work Location
- This position will be hybrid, having the availability to come into our office Two days a week. Our office location: WPS Corporate Center Building - 1717 W. Broadway in Madison, WI.
- Onsite work will be tailored for team cohesion, strategy, planning and collaboration.
In this role you will:
- Project Management & Execution
- Lead and/or support assigned cross-functional HR projects, ensuring delivery on time and within scope.
- Develop project plans, monitor progress, and provide regular updates to HR leadership and stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies that may impact project outcomes.
- HR Service Delivery & Process Improvement
- Evaluate existing HR processes, policies, and workflows to identify inefficiencies or gaps in service delivery.
- Partner with HR Operations to standardize procedures and implement best practices for a consistent employee experience.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, guides, and toolkits to improve accessibility and ease of use.
- Gather feedback from employees and leaders and provide recommendations to leadership to continuously refine HR services and improve satisfaction.
- Talent Management & Development
- Identify and document opportunities for improvement in employee lifecycle processes, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and learning initiatives.
- Partner with the Talent team to implement development programs, succession planning, and career pathing initiatives.
- HRBP & Employee Relations Support
- Support HRBPs with employee relations, policy implementation, and change management activities.
- Work with business leaders and Compensation team to develop job descriptions.
- Culture, Engagement & Strategic Support
- Support engagement programs, recognition initiatives, and culture-building activities.
- Collect and analyze employee feedback, surfacing insights to inform HR strategy.
- Provide research, benchmarking, and communication support to align HR initiatives with organizational goals.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 or more years of HR Generalist or related HR experience with exposure to multiple HR functions.
- 3 or more years in project management or HR program implementation.
- In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices and programs.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle competing priorities.
- Proficiency in HR systems and technology, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across teams and levels.
- Ability to balance day-to-day execution with longer-term project support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with ServiceNow.
