ServiceNow Scrum Master B&A is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support the modernization of the organization's asset management solution by guiding the implementation of the ServiceNow IT Asset Management (ITAM) module, replacing the legacy OpenText Asset Manager system. This role is critical in ensuring Agile practices are followed, facilitating collaboration across development teams, stakeholders, and customers, and driving delivery effectiveness. The Scrum Master will serve as a servant leader and coach, enabling the team to work efficiently, resolve impediments, and deliver high-value outcomes within the broader ServiceNow platform environment, which includes ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, Security Operations, and GRC modules. Responsibilities
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring alignment with Scrum best practices.
- Oversee team processes to ensure delivery effectiveness, focusing on transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Act as a neutral facilitator, encouraging collaboration and teamwork among developers, stakeholders, and customers.
- Provide coaching to team members, stakeholders, and leadership on Agile principles and practices, tailoring approaches as needed to fit the project context.
- Remove impediments and roadblocks that impact team performance, escalating issues when necessary.
- Collaborate closely with the Product Owner to maintain and refine the product backlog, ensuring clarity and prioritization of requirements for the ITAM solution.
- Support the adoption of ServiceNow platform best practices and Agile frameworks in the delivery of ITAM and related modules.
- Track and report on team progress, using Agile metrics and ServiceNow reporting tools where applicable.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree
- 8+ years of experience leading teams
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow projects, ideally including ITAM or related modules (ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, GRC, Security Ops).
- Proven experience serving as a Scrum Master, overseeing Agile processes, and ensuring team effectiveness.
- Strong facilitation skills with the ability to act as a neutral party, fostering collaboration and resolving conflicts.
- Demonstrated ability to coach development teams, stakeholders, and customers in Agile practices.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience using Agile project management tools, with familiarity in leveraging ServiceNow for reporting or backlog management.
- Knowledge of both Agile and traditional project delivery approaches.
Desired Skills
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or equivalent Agile certification.
- ServiceNow certifications (e.g., Certified System Administrator, ITAM Implementation Specialist).
- Experience working in government, public sector, or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and IT service management frameworks.
- Experience supporting modernization or migration efforts from legacy platforms to ServiceNow.
- Strong knowledge of Agile metrics (velocity, burndown, throughput) and their use in driving team performance.
Security Clearance
- Eligible to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
