ServiceNow Technical Subject Matter Expert B&A is seeking a ServiceNow Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the modernization of the organization's asset management solution. The initiative involves implementing the ServiceNow IT Asset Management (ITAM) module to replace the legacy OpenText Asset Manager, with the goal of improving asset visibility, lifecycle tracking, and audit compliance. The ServiceNow SME will bring advanced technical expertise in ServiceNow applications, modules, and integrations, ensuring the solution aligns with business needs, industry best practices, and compliance requirements, including Section 508 accessibility to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert for the implementation of the ServiceNow ITAM module within the broader ServiceNow platform (ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, Security Ops, GRC).
- Provide technical knowledge, analysis, and recommendations for ServiceNow applications, modules, and integrations.
- Ensure ServiceNow configurations, customizations, and solutions meet accessibility standards, including Section 508 compliance to WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
- Conduct technical assessments of existing systems, providing gap analyses and recommendations for migration from the legacy OpenText Asset Manager to ServiceNow ITAM.
- Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to align technical requirements with business objectives.
- Support solution design, configuration, and testing, ensuring technical accuracy and performance optimization.
- Advise on ServiceNow best practices, platform governance, and security requirements.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance for implementation activities, including integrations, workflows, data migration, and reporting.
- Stay current with ServiceNow updates and new features, advising on applicability to the modernization effort.
- Contribute technical expertise to training, documentation, and knowledge transfer activities.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree
- 8+ years of experience leading teams
Required Skills
- Extensive experience with ServiceNow platform administration, development, and implementation.
- Proven ability to analyze and provide technical expertise across ServiceNow applications and modules.
- Advanced hands-on experience with ServiceNow modules and functionalities, including ITAM, ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, GRC, or Security Operations.
- Demonstrated experience ensuring accessibility and compliance with Section 508 / WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards in technical implementations.
- Strong ability to conduct technical analysis, evaluations, and provide gap recommendations for system replacement or improvement.
- Experience with IT systems architecture and integration, spanning both modern and legacy technologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, providing technical expertise in support of business goals.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex ServiceNow issues.
Desired Skills
- ServiceNow certifications (e.g., Certified Implementation Specialist - ITAM, ITSM, or CMDB; ServiceNow Certified System Administrator).
- Experience migrating legacy asset management systems (e.g., OpenText Asset Manager) to ServiceNow ITAM.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and IT service management frameworks.
- Experience delivering ServiceNow solutions in government, public sector, or regulated environments.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow reporting, dashboards, and performance analytics.
- Advanced technical certifications in IT (e.g., Microsoft, AWS, or other enterprise platforms).
