This role is situated within the Data & Analytics Solutions (DAS) division-HCSC's epicenter for data science, AI solutions, business intelligence, and enterprise analytics and AI strategy. With a team of over 150 dedicated professionals, DAS harnesses the power of data and analytics to bring HCSC's vision to life: empowering whole-person health, expanding access to care, and enhancing healthcare affordability for our 23 million members. Within DAS, the Strategic Initiatives & Partnerships (SIP) team is at the forefront of strategy, operations, and solution delivery, amplifying the impact of data and analytics across HCSC. SIP spearheads initiatives such as member engagement analytics, payment integrity, and AI business transformation and enablement. We bridge the gap between data teams, capabilities, and strategic goals, transforming visionary ideas into actionable solutions. With a strong emphasis on culture, collaboration, and continuous learning, SIP is advancing the data and analytics ecosystem at HCSC. As we expand and enhance our data and analytics offerings, we are seeking an Analytics Consultant to join our AI Governance Operations team.

Job Purpose: This position is part of the Center for Responsible AI and AI Governance support function and is responsible for the execution of activities to support the enterprise AI Governance program. Responsible for creating and maintaining AI governance operational dashboards to track and monitor projects in the AI governance process. This role collects, organizes, analyzes, and reports information to management, and supports the evolution of the AI governance processes, policies, and procedures. This position will report to the Sr. Director, DAS Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships, but will interface daily and take direction from the Lead AI Business Consultant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements.
  • Build data validation rules to support data entry
  • Impute/populate/correct data
  • Build data automations or pipelines to ingest current data from other governance committees' review queues and link to AI governance projects
  • Build automations or pipelines to automatically prompt projects that meet certain criteria
  • Contribute to metrics design sessions and advising on KPI development.
  • Measure and monitor performance against existing operational metrics.
  • Provide consultation to users and leading cross-functional teams to address business issues.
  • Produce data sets and reports for analysis using reporting and dashboarding tools.
  • Analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers.
  • Identify and interpret trends and patterns in datasets to locate problems, opportunities, and value drivers.
  • Collaborate across teams to deliver on expectations.
  • Participate in team projects.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in health care services, statistical analysis, or insurance industry economics or related field OR Master's degree in related field OR 6 years of experience in health care services, statistical analysis, or insurance industry economics or related field
  • Understanding, and being highly proficient at querying a wide variety of internal and external data sources to get meaningful insights.
  • Performance excellence in computer languages, such as SQL, R, Python.
  • Ability to create a dynamic and visually engaging dashboard leveraging data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • High degree of business intelligence and understanding how to take a business case from inception to customer or partner execution.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Performance excellence in championing initiatives and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to bring the initiative to life.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Three plus year's experience in a data and analytics role where strong detail orientation was required.
  • Experience in data visualization and building dashboards, particularly with Power BI.
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases; coding skills in SQL, Python, or R are a plus.
  • Strong Proficiency in MS Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Effective collaboration skills, with the ability to work in teams and manage deliverables.
  • Proactive approach with a focus on meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Project management skills, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing projects, as well as needs assessment, solution design, and recommendations.
  • Familiarity with AI and governance concepts.
  • Ability to quickly process information and produce timely materials.
  • Strong influence and communication skills across all corporate levels.
  • Effective time management, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in defining success criteria and establishing metrics/KPIs.
  • Understanding of IT/IS laws and regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and governance frameworks (e.g., NIST, COBIT, ITIL, HITRUST).
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing technical growth

The compensation offered will vary depending on your job-related skills, education, knowledge, and experience. This role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plansubject to the terms and the conditions of the plan.

Base Pay Range$60,300.00 - $133,400.00
