We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic Finance team at Color Health. This role will focus on designing, executing, and scaling best-in-class revenue accounting operations within a high-growth health tech startup environment. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in building agile infrastructure, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all revenue recognition activities, and contributing to the overall financial health and strategic growth of the company. Responsibilities include developing and implementing efficient workflows, leveraging technology to automate processes, and providing insightful analysis to support business decisions.
How You'll Contribute
- Revenue Accounting: Lead the monthly revenue close process, ensuring timely and accurate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and other relevant guidance. Manage general ledger activities, reconciliations, and month-end close to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Billing & Accounts Receivable: Own invoicing, collections, and AR management. Focus on improving working capital and customer experience.
- Banking & Treasury: Oversee cash management, wires, and treasury operations.
- Audit & Compliance: Serve as the primary contact for revenue- and AR-related matters during audits, ensuring high-quality documentation and controls.
- Policy & Process Development: Design and implement scalable accounting policies, procedures, and frameworks to support Color's evolving business model and growth trajectory.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Sales and Legal partners to develop revenue policies and operations.
- Systems & Automation: Identify and execute opportunities to automate manual processes, reduce close timelines, and improve data accuracy. Strategic Initiatives: Provide subject matter expertise for special projects, go-to-market initiatives, and business development activity.
- Analytics & Insights: Build and maintain high-integrity reporting and analytics to drive visibility into revenue performance, A/R health, and forecasting.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- 5+ years of total accounting experience, with at least 2 years in corporate accounting.
- Strong revenue accounting experience, with practical knowledge of ASC 606.
- Familiarity with Accounts Receivable, billing, and collections operations.
- Cash management, banking, and treasury experience are a plus.
- CPA preferred.
- Experience in startups strongly preferred; healthcare industry experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with NetSuite ERP.
- Experience with grant accounting and compliance is a plus.
- Skilled at building processes from scratch, designing scalable systems, and improving efficiency.
- Strong communicator who can explain complex accounting topics to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, process-driven, and relentless in the pursuit of operational excellence.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment with evolving priorities.
