Job Summary:

Under general supervision, but using independent thought and creativity, performs a variety of duties as required to direct and coordinate Apple's marketing and brand content development. Utilizes experience-based knowledge to develop and implement content marketing strategies, as well as promotional and website copywriting, to promote Apple's products, services and brand. Reviews the work of other team members as needed in an editorial capacity to ensure adherence to credit union brand style, policies, procedure and industry regulations. Leads monthly promotional meetings to ensure that the Marketing Team is aware of upcoming promotions. Remains cognizant of and adheres to credit union policies, procedures and industry regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act. Performs duties and responsibilities in accordance with The Apple Way principles of Team Up, Serve With Purpose, Challenge Yourself and Own It. Performs other duties as assigned by the Marketing Management Team.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Acts as lead writer for external marketing content and provides guidance, alternatives and advice to product owner and/or manager in developing copy solutions, providing alternatives and advice regarding appropriate copy strategy, methodologies and turnaround cycles. Works with Marketing Management Team, colleagues and vendors in the planning/creative development, execution, production, distribution and post-production phases of projects. Generates marketing content to promote products, services and delivery systems (e.g., annual report, newsletters, Apple-maintained website(s) and employee intranet, direct mail packages, radio, print and electronic advertising).
  • Writes and edits website content, ensuring consistency and compliance with web, writing and graphic style guides. Uses digital best practices and data resources, such as Google Analytics, to support and enhance user experience. Collaborates closely with Web Team and/or product owners to advance communications, marketing initiatives and content planning relevant to advancing business objectives and UX/UI best practices. Independently reviews the website to keep content fresh and accurate, as well as identify gaps and opportunities. Evaluates and recommends SEO strategies and tactics.
  • Reviews the work of other team members in an editorial capacity to ensure adherence to marketing standards, credit union policies and procedures and industry regulations. Organizes monthly meetings with Marketing Management Team to ensure marketing channel cohesion (i.e., community, social, email). May assign and supervise various marketing/operational duties, as appropriate and directed by Director of Marketing, to other Marketing employees.
  • Keeps informed on techniques for various media, product knowledge, research and presentation methods, marketing and communications and awareness of industry standards, competitors' practices, and regulatory and copyright considerations.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience:

Three to five years of content development and copywriting experience required, within a financial institution setting highly preferred. Superior writer, editor and proofreader with strong foundation in digital platforms is essential, including experience with website content, email marketing, and long-form, educational collateral.

Education:

BA/BS degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, English or related area of study.

Interpersonal Skills:

Clear, effective communication with the ability to turn complex ideas into engaging content. Strong collaboration across teams and with external partners to maintain message alignment. Editorial oversight with attention to brand standards and compliance, and a constructive approach to feedback. Confident in managing relationships and contributing to team discussions.

Other Skills:

Efficient project management across multiple initiatives with minimal oversight. Data-informed decision-making using tools like Google Analytics to guide strategy and improve performance. Proactive in identifying content gaps and opportunities. Well-versed in SEO, UX/UI and digital marketing trends. Flexible and responsive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Experience working cross-functionally with product teams, designers and developers is important, particularly in environments where compliance and brand standards are critical.

Physical Requirements:

The ability to lift 25 lbs. and utilize standard office equipment including, but not limited to, PC, copier, telephone, etc.

Work Environment:

Ability to function in a financial institution, hybrid work environment.
