Position Title Campus Ministry Coordinator
Overview
St. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students each year. Across its five Schools, Fisher offers nearly 40 majors in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, business, education, and nursing; 11 pre-professional programs; and master's and doctoral programs in business, nursing, education, pharmacy, and public health. The University's residential campus boasts a robust living and learning community and a successful intercollegiate athletics program. Fisher is a community where all are welcome, regardless of religious or cultural background.

The University continues to honor its founders, the Congregation of St. Basil, by embracing their motto, "Teach Me Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge." We are located in Pittsford, N.Y., seven miles outside of the city of Rochester. The campus is situated on 164 park-like acres-a beautiful setting for a warm, friendly campus community.
Job Responsibilities
Chapel Operations and Wedding Coordination (15%):
-Oversee chapel operations, including preparation and support for Masses, prayer services, sacramental celebrations and chapel events for the Office of Campus Ministry in collaboration across the university.
-Coordinate chapel use with appropriate university leadership for lectures, award ceremonies, and other events.
-Collaborate with clergy, musicians, and student volunteers to ensure meaningful and well-organized liturgies.
-Guide couples through the marriage preparation process, ensuring compliance with diocesan and university policies and coordinate logistics, including scheduling, rehearsal, and collaboration with officiants and support staff.
Retreat Opportunities (40%):
-Organize and lead spiritual retreat programs for students.
-Organize and collaboratively deploy an annual alumni retreat.
-Liaise with local religious-affiliated high schools for retreat days on campus.
-Develop criterion for retreat content that reflects the Basilian values of goodness, discipline, and knowledge, and fosters personal and communal spiritual growth.
-Recruit, train, and mentor student leaders in retreat planning and facilitation.
Community Service (40%):
-Collaboratively coordinate service opportunities that embody the Basilian educational commitment to service and justice.
-Network across campus to develop a common identity and understanding of the university's commitment to service alongside campus partners in service related activities.
-Build partnerships with local organizations to offer students meaningful service experiences.
-Facilitate faith-based reflection to help students connect service with their academic and spiritual development.
-Track and report student participation in service opportunities and programs.
-Lead the university's participation in the United Way Annual Day of Caring.
Other (5%):
-Directed collaboration with the Campus Ministry staff and other University staff on a variety of campus-wide events and programs.
Education / Experience
Bachelor's degree in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, or a related field (Master's preferred).
Prior experience in campus ministry, retreat leadership, liturgical planning, and community service coordination.
Competencies / Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of Roman Catholic liturgy, ecclesial structure, and campus ministry standards.
Maintain an appreciation and understanding of the university mission, and its Catholic, Basilian heritage.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, technological, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively and inclusively across diverse campus populations.

Salary / Hourly Range $60,500.00 per year

The salary range for this role is set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, qualifications, experience, and education. The above hiring range is one component of the University's competitive Total Rewards package which can be viewed here
