The intern will contribute to research, analysis, and project support across innovation and implementation efforts, gaining hands-on experience in shaping the future of energy.

This is a summer May-August 2026 internship in St. Louis, MO.

Key Focus Areas

  • Distributed Energy Resources (DERs): Support analysis and implementation of DER integration strategies, including solar, battery storage, and microgrids.
  • Renewable Energy Technologies: Research and evaluate new technologies and business models for renewable generation.
  • Grid Modernization & Strategy: Assist in developing strategic roadmaps for innovation and implementation across Ameren's service territory.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineering, regulatory, and customer experience teams to support pilot projects and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and data analysis on emerging energy technologies.
  • Support project planning, documentation, and implementation efforts.
  • Assist in preparing presentations and reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in team meetings, workshops, and innovation sessions.
  • Contribute to ongoing strategic initiatives and pilot programs.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Sustainability, Energy Systems, or a related field.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for clean energy, innovation, and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Compensation:

We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the salary offered.

$19.00 - $29.00 If end date is listed, the posting will come down at 12:00 am on that date:Monday February 23, 2026
