Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Remote Diagnostic Lab Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our diagnostic imaging laboratory services. The core job responsibility for this role is to supervise staff and ensure day-to-day operations of the laboratory services offered by Enovis Companion Animal Health business are performed in an efficient, timely, and compliant manner. This role will also be responsible for ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives. The diagnostic imaging services provided by the lab are conducted remotely and not physically in the labs. Experience in veterinary diagnostics is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, communication, with a customer centric focus, and be adept at managing lab operations and personnel virtually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Remote Lab Operations Management
    • Oversee day-to-day lab operations via digital tools, ensuring consistent quality and turnaround times.
    • Supervises staff, ensures appropriate staffing level/scheduling, and coordinate with staff to manage testing schedules and workflow execution.
  • Customer Success Focus
    • Serve as a key point of contact for customer feedback related to lab services, ensuring issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
    • Collaborate with the Sales/Marketing team to understand customer needs, pain points, and expectations, and translate these insights into actionable improvements for lab processes and services.
    • Monitor customer satisfaction metrics related to lab services and identify opportunities to enhance customer experience.
  • Cellfie Management & Strategy
    • Develop a comprehensive roadmap for diagnostic lab services, aligned with overall business strategy and customer needs.
    • Conduct competitive analysis to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
    • Monitor product performance and identify areas for improvement, using data and analytics to inform decision-making.
    • Champion the product vision and strategy, effectively communicating it to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Workflow & Process Oversight
    • Design, implement, and continuously optimize lab workflows to ensure efficiency and compliance.
    • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
    • Identify and recommend technological solutions to improve remote oversight and team communication.
  • Testing & Quality Reporting
    • Review diagnostic data and lab reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal quality standards.
    • Monitor and analyze performance metrics (e.g., turnaround time, error rates, capacity).
    • Implement continuous quality improvement processes and assist with root cause analysis when needed.
  • Staff Leadership & Supervision
    • Supervise and support lab personnel remotely, including technicians, coordinators, and administrative staff.
    • Manage staffing schedules, remote communication, performance evaluations, and professional development.
    • Foster a collaborative and accountable culture across remote and on-site team members.
  • Compliance & Documentation
    • Ensure the operation meets all applicable compliance and customer requirements.
    • Oversee remote record-keeping systems, ensuring accurate documentation of testing, training, and maintenance logs.
  • Currently, Enovis does not provide sponsorship for employment visas (e.g., H-1B) and will not offer such sponsorship in the future. Applicants must already have full-time work authorization in the United States, both now and in the future, without requiring sponsorship.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology, Veterinary Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field. Advanced degree or certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years of laboratory experience, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Experience in diagnostic imaging testing (veterinary preferred but not required).
  • Proven experience managing remote or distributed teams is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with digital lab systems (e.g., LIMS) and cloud-based productivity tools.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Proven experience in product management, with a track record of successfully launching and managing products.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to inform decisions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate product vision and strategy.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in veterinary diagnostics or healthcare lab settings.
  • Comfortable using platforms such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and project/task management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, or similar).
  • Experience in the veterinary or healthcare industry.
  • Formal product management training or certification (e.g., Pragmatic Marketing).
