Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Digital Communications, the Digital Coordinator position supports Vibrant Emotional Health and its key programs, including the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and the Disaster Distress Helpline-two national initiatives funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). This nonsupervisory role helps maintain and grow Vibrant's digital presence by supporting daily social media tasks like content scheduling, moderation, and engagement, as well as website updates and digital content creation. The Coordinator will assist with implementing online campaigns, developing branded materials, and amplifying public education efforts around mental health and suicide prevention. The role will also support data-informed decision-making by assisting with website and social media analytics, including reporting through Google Analytics 4 (GA4). The ideal candidate is a creative, detail-oriented team player with strong writing skills, a passion for mental health, and a desire to grow in digital communications.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The Digital Coordinator will support the creation and optimization of digital content across Vibrant Emotional Health's web and social platforms, including key programs like the 988 Lifeline and Disaster Distress Helpline. Working closely with the Social Media Specialist and Digital Communications Specialist, this role will play a key part in supporting the day-to-day operations of the digital team, helping to ensure the smooth execution of content, campaigns, and online engagement efforts. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Support Vibrant's, 988 Lifeline's, and Disaster Distress Helpline's digital properties and online marketing/communications strategies and campaigns
  • Assist with drafting and scheduling social media posts across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, and TikTok
  • Help monitor comments and messages, flagging any that need attention and supporting moderation efforts
  • Support the creation of multimedia content by sourcing images, drafting captions, and helping with basic design tasks
  • Help maintain the social media content calendar and track important dates such as awareness months and campaigns
  • Assist in gathering social media analytics and compiling performance reports
  • Assist with gathering and analyzing website analytics using Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to monitor performance and identify areas for optimization
  • Help update and maintain website content, such as blog posts and resource pages
  • Assist with ensuring digital content aligns with SEO and accessibility best practices
  • Provide support in drafting or proofreading content for website pages and digital campaigns
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions for new content ideas and digital outreach strategies
  • Conduct background research on digital engagement trends, mental health topics, and nonprofit communication strategies
  • Support the implementation of digital strategies to increase public awareness of Vibrant and its key programs and resources
  • Support the Communications team and carry out Communications tasks as needed, including activities with partners, vendors, and other programs and departments



Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Proven ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and an ability to adapt tone for different audiences and platforms
  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, TikTok, etc.) and interest in social media best practices and trends
  • Familiarity with digital tools such as Canva, WordPress, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive), and scheduling or analytics tools like Meta Business Suite and Sprout Social
  • Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to take direction and feedback from multiple team members
  • Basic understanding of email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp) and content management systems (e.g., WordPress)
  • Interest in or knowledge of SEO, web accessibility, and digital marketing principles is a plus
  • Creative thinking and curiosity, with a willingness to learn and contribute ideas in brainstorming sessions
  • A passion for mental health, public service, or nonprofit work, and sensitivity to topics related to mental health and suicide prevention



Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant experience in communications, marketing, public health, psychology, journalism, or a related field
  • 2-3 years of professional work experience in digital communications, social media, marketing, or a related field; experience in a nonprofit mental health, health, or human services organization a plus
  • Demonstrated experience using social media platforms for professional or organizational purposes
  • Familiarity with content creation tools such as Canva or similar
  • Basic experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress) and email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp)
  • Understanding of digital communities and emerging online trends
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others
  • Interest in mental health and suicide prevention
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English is a strong bonus, particularly for engaging diverse communities online



Physical Requirements:


  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Will constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
  • Will frequently communicate over video calls with internal and external stakeholders
