SUMMARY


The Compensation Analyst is responsible for delivering the compensation functions in support of HR leadership across NASSCO San Diego. This position designs, manages, and analyzes compensation programs in alignment with the company's goals, market competitiveness, and internal equity. Additionally, assists and supports in the delivery of NASSCO's health, welfare, and retirement plans.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES



  • Lead the development, implementation, and administration of all compensationprograms.
  • Ensure programs are consistently administered in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies. Collaborate with corporate partners, where appropriate.
  • Manage participation in salary surveys and analyze results to determine competitive positioning; review and update salary structures.
  • Maintain and update all internal compensation-related guidelines, policies, and instructions.
  • Collaborate with departments to perform analysis for new positions or restructures, developing an equitable and competitive solution.
  • Provide advice to management on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations.
  • Participate in administration of annual merit and incentive programs.
  • Ongoing review of the following:

    • Compensation philosophy and job leveling framework
    • Process to review and update job descriptions
    • Market pricing and updated salary structures
    • Market position


  • Collaborate with the teamresponsible for benefits program administration, including health, welfare, 401(k), life, disability, medical savings accounts, and voluntary plans in order to integrate services efficiently and maximize value to employees and the company.
  • Develop subject-matter knowledge and provide escalation supportfor the Companyin resolving complex issues and problems.
  • Collaborate on benefit-related communications to promote quality, cost awareness, and value, with an emphasis on educated healthcare consumerism.
  • Conduct multiple analysis in support of Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations.
  • Other duties as assigned.



SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, human resources, or related field and at least 3yearsof progressively responsible experience in employee compensation.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) andCertified Compensation Professional (CCP) credentials a plus.
  • Knowledge of all relevant federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data, recognize trends, and develop materials to present key findings to various levels of leadership.
  • Advanced Excel skills; proficient in other Microsoft products.
  • Advanced time management skills and project management experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate findings and recommendations with senior management.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS


The essential functions of this role are performed in an office setting. The role requires prolonged periods of working in a stationary position, operating a computer, computer programs, and standard office equipment necessary to perform the essential duties. The role requires perceiving information and communicating effectively with others in person, online, and on the phone.


PAY SCALE

$85,000 - $105,000

This pay range is a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. It takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and education. General Dynamics NASSCO also provides a variety of benefits including medical & dental insurance coverage, 401(k) retirement savings plan, flexible spending accounts/HSAs, life and disability insurance, company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO), wellness coaching, and an onsite health services.
