The Sanitation Supervisor will help deliver training, maintain and educate employees on plant- wide sanitation practices and procedures that comply with regulatory and GFSI requirements to ensure food safety. This position requires knowledge of sanitation, identifying materials, equipment requirements, equipment operation and planning skills. This position is primarily a weekend position, Fri, Sat and Sun with some responsibility of weekly activity.

What You Do.
* May supervise up to 20 employees.
* Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of areas assigned.
* Interview, hire, and train employees. Appraise performance; reward, discipline, address concerns and resolve problems.
* Monitor employee practices to ensure they comply with regulatory and company quality and safety policies.
* Monitor equipment, building and contractors to ensure compliance with company quality and safety policies.
* Investigate and answer Corrective Action Requests.
* Investigate and recommend improvements related to near miss, property damage or employee injury incidents.
* Support the plant safety program by actively participating in improvement programs.
* Ensure Safety Data Sheets are added to computer system through Safety Manager.
* Be sure all employees are certified in chemical, forklift, air gun and washing equipment
* Interpret work orders and can assign employees duties to support the work.
* Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems.
* Communicate with peer supervisors and cross-functionally to coordinate activities in the best interest of Sargento.
* Direct the setup and adjustment of equipment.
* Review and update training programs.
* Interprets and enforces company disciplinary process in a consistent and fair manner.
* Maintain testing of chemicals. Verify correct chemical label information.
* Check to see that adequate chemicals and supplies are available to meet sanitation needs; notify appropriate personnel concerning material shortages.
* Maintain all sanitation records. Submit reports as required.
* Safely operate, set up and break down all equipment
* Be available for customer and regulatory audits.
* Has the ability to accept a temporary reassignment to a different shift.

Your Education and Experience.
* Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school required. Bachelor's degree in operations, business, quality or related field preferred.

* Minimum 1 year of supervision or leadership experience is required
* Minimum of 1 year experience in operations, production, supervision, sanitation, food science, maintenance or related experience preferred.
