Prefer candidates with Active Secret Clearance. Interim Secret clearance is required to start.

Seeking an experienced engineer to join our Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) team within the Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) Center of Excellence (COE).

This team operates under the Integration, Test and Evaluation (IT&E) functional directorate and is responsible for developing and maintaining MBSE architecture models that support current and future HWIL capabilities.

In this role, you will lead efforts in system architecture and modeling, working closely with HWIL engineers and system product owners.

You will help ensure our MBSE models stay current, accurate, and aligned with evolving program needs.

The ideal candidate will be experienced with Cameo and SysML-based design and bring a strong background in requirements analysis, decomposition, and architecture development.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and manage requirements and models for current and next-gen Radio Frequency (RF) and Infrared (IR) capabilities

- Create IBDs, BDDs, Use Cases, Functional Diagrams and other architectural views using MBSE tools

- Coordinate with the MBSE team to build HWIL MBSE Starter Kits and training content for Cameo modeling

- Coordination with HWIL System Product Owners to ensure MBSE model stays updated and meets requirements for flight test algorithm development support

- Develop and maintain system models: Create and maintain detailed system models using modeling languages such as SysML, UML, or other domain-specific languages.

- Apply MBSE principles and practices: Apply MBSE principles and practices to ensure that systems are designed and developed using a model-based approach.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, software engineers, and test engineers, to ensure that system models are accurate and consistent.

- Perform system analysis and simulation: Use system models to perform analysis and simulation, including performance analysis, reliability analysis, and trade studies.

- Develop and maintain model-based testing: Develop and maintain model-based testing approaches to verify and validate system behavior.

- Ensure model consistency and integrity: Ensure that system models are consistent and accurate, and that changes to the models are properly managed and tracked.

- Provide training and support: Provide training and support to other engineers and stakeholders on MBSE principles, practices, and tools.

- Develop and manage requirements and models for current and next-gen Radio Frequency (RF) and Infrared (IR) capabilities

- Create IBDs, BDDs, Use Cases, Functional Diagrams and other architectural views using MBSE tools

Required Experience:

* Bachelor's Degree or Higher in a Technical Discipline

* Candidate must have at least 5 years of professional experience working Models-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) in Cameo

* Ability to design using Open System Architecture (OSA) principles and SysML-based tools.

* Candidate must have at least 5 years experience with system functionality definition, including state diagrams and operational modes

* Skilled in requirements generation, decomposition, and converting system needs into executable architectures

* Ability to synthesize and implement system architectures across multiple HWIL systems

* Familiarity with requirements tracking tools like DOORs, Cameo, or similar

* Knowledge of systems engineering process and lifecycle.

Desired Skills:

* Experience working with cross-discipline teams to derive and decompose complex requirements

* Exposure to digital engineering environments (i.e., MBSE and digital twin)

* Background in system-of-systems architecture and model-based design

* Experience with operational modeling tools and formal verification process

Benefits provided: 401K, medical, dental, and vision, sick time as applicable to state law
