The Technical Purchasing Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless procurement of materials and components required for manufacturing and operations. This position involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery of high-quality materials. The role requires a strong understanding of technical specifications, supply chain processes, and market trends to align purchasing strategies with organizational goals.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Perform daily ordering of all inventory items: aluminum, steel, small components, tools and PPE.
- Lead the procurement process from identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of materials.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships and favorable terms.
- Reduce inventory risks by evaluating; Business Continuity Plans, Product Change Notifications, End of Life notifications
- Continuously evaluate and monitor supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
- Develop and maintain performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of supplier relations and procurement processes.
- Transform spend and historical data into key insights and opportunities to enable growth.
- Coordinate best practices in strategic sourcing and procurement that align with internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and performance with commercial suppliers.
- Guarantee appropriate communication, reporting and cooperation with all stakeholders.
- Minimize working capital/inventories.
- Identify key materials for regional sourcing and contact potential business partners to start sourcing discussions.
- Establish production part approval processes and new vendor evaluation programs.
- Any Additional responsibilities in procurement that management considers as part of your duties

Required Education / Experience
- High School Diploma with 3-5 years of experience in procurement, planning, or supply chain management
Preferred Education / Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in purchasing transformer components or similar high voltage electrical parts.
- Certifications in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, ISM, or similar).
